This reading text is taken from the book package class X high school students p. 53-54, in
the Reading Comprehension in Task 1 entitled "Tanjung Puting National Park"

Text analysis:
1. What are the learning objectives of the text in the book?
Answer:
The learning objectives of the text presented are aimed at making students
understand the contents of the text well, so students can answer questions about this text
and with this text students are expected to know about Tanjung Puting National Park. This
text can also give an idea to students who have never been to Tanjung Puting National
Park. In addition, this text can also improve students' reading skills, and can be used to
assess the extent to which students understand what is conveyed in the reading text.

2. The selected text is included in the scanning / skimming category?


Answer:
This text included in reading skimming texts because of how to read this with the aim
of students understanding the contents of the text delivered. With this skimming reading
technique students can obtain information in the text presented, skimming reading can be
supported by pictures or illustrations in pictures. Speed reading by skim reading is
included in the way of speed reading to get information from what is read.

3. What type of text are included?


Answer:
Included in descriptive text. Where this text describes about Tanjung Puting National
Park, starting from the location of the park, animals in the park, and others.

4. What level of learning is the text for students?


Answer:
This text is used for high school students in class X. The language and structure of the
text used in this text are quite complete and easy to understand, especially for class X
students who have just entered secondary school level. The choice of words used in this
text is also more complex, so it is very good to add students' vocabulary.

5. How is the text used in books?


Answer:
This text is used in textbooks for high school level X students, the existence of this
text because it is included in the reading comprehension section which is included in the
initial stages. in the early stages of the book the reading material / reading text is still
light. In a textbook there are several points about skills in English, one of which is
reading skills, the existence of this text is included in reading skills when students
practice reading comprehension in reading texts.

6. What variations are there in the reading text?


Answer:
The variation used in this reading text uses pictures / examples of images of animals
in Tanjung Puting National Park, which are pictures of orangutans. The images included
in the reading can attract students' interest and make it easier for students to understand
the contents of the reading, so students can understand well.

7. What the text in the book looks like ?


Answer :
The text is presented in the form of a description, in the form of a description of each
paragraph, where each paragraph explains the contents of the text. This text in each
paragraph explains in detail about Tanjung Puting National Park, this reading is
accompanied by a picture next to the paragraph, so that the reader / student easily
understands the contents of the text / information contained in the text.
