Settlement Monitoring

Tank settlement:
Settlement Monitoring of T101B has been carried out at the terminal by Hamilton
Material Testings Private Limited from 03.11.2019 to 05.11.2019.
It is seen that the maximum settlement of the piles at storage level of 6800 tons is
3mm, with reference to the initial storage level of 1230 tons. If extrapolated for Zero
storage level to 8,500 tonnes full storage level, the maximum settlement works out
to 3mm. This is less than the order of settlement which was obtained in the
settlement monitoring of the same tank last year. This order of settlement is well
within the permissible settlement of 25mm for pile groups as per Indian Standard
IS:2911(Part-4)1985 (reaffirmed 2000, Edition 2.1(1989-05): CODE OF PRACTICE
FOR DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF PILE FOUNDATIONS PART 4 LOAD TEST ON
PILES
Compressive strength of piles:
The results of compressive strength of concrete of 15 Piles tested and the minimum
compressive strength obtained is 30.06 N/mm2 (4360 psi), which correspondence
to M26 Grade concrete which is significantly more than the design Grade of M20.
Therefore, in terms of compressive strength of concrete in the pile, the piles are safe.

It is certified by the testing company that the settlement of tank is in safe limits and
the piles are of good compressive strength.
