Little Red Riding Hood
Once upon a time there was a little girl who wore a beautiful red cloak. Her mother,
who knew how to sew very well, had made it for her. The girl wore it so often that
everyone called her Little Red Riding Hood.
One day, Little Red Riding Hood's mother called her and said, “Grandmother does
not feel very well. I have baked some cookies and I want you to take them to her.”
“Of course,” said Little Red Riding Hood, putting on her cloak and filling her basket
with the freshly baked cookies.
Before leaving, her mother told her, “Listen to me very well. Stay on the road and
never talk to strangers.”
“I know mother,” said Little Red Riding Hood and left immediately to Grandma's
house.
To get to Grandma's house, Little Red Riding Hood had to cross a path through the
thick forest. On the way, she met a wolf
“Hello little girl. Where are you heading to on this wonderful day?” the wolf asked
Little Red Riding Hood remembered that her mother told her not to talk to
strangers, but the wolf looked very elegant, and he was very friendly and polite.
“I'm going to Grandma's house,” the girl replied. “She is sick and I'm going to take
her these cookies.”
“What a good girl you are!” exclaimed the wolf. “How far do you have to go?”
“Oh! Grandma lives at the end of the road,” answered Little Red Riding Hood with
a smile.
“I wish you a very happy day, little girl,” the wolf replied.
The wolf went into the forest. He had a huge appetite and was not as nice as he
appeared. He ran to Grandma's house before Little Red Riding Hood could arrive.
His plan was to eat grandma, Little Red Riding Hood and all the freshly baked
cookies.
The wolf knocked on Grandma's door. Upon seeing him, Grandma ran away
terrified, leaving behind her shawl. The wolf took the old woman's shawl and then
put on her glasses and night cap. Quickly, he climbed into Grandma’s bed,
covering his nose with the blanket. Soon he heard a knock on the door:
“Grandma, it's me, Little Red Riding Hood.”
Disguising his voice to sound like Grandma, the wolf said, “Please, enter my dear
girl. I am in bed.”
Little Red Riding Hood thought that her grandmother was very sick because she
looked very pale and sounded terrible.
“Oh, dear grandma, what big eyes you have!” she said.
“All the better to see you with” replied the wolf.
“Oh, dear grandma, what big ears you have!” said Little Red Riding Hood.
“All the better to hear you with, my dear!” the wolf whispered.
“Oh, dear grandma, what big teeth you have!” said Little Red Riding Hood.
“All the better to eat you with!” growled the wolf.
With these words, the evil wolf threw off the blanket and jumped out of bed.
Scared, Little Red Riding Hood ran to the door. Just then, a woodcutter, noticing
the door was open rushed inside. Grandma was hiding behind him.
At the sight of the woodcutter, the wolf jumped out the window and fled in horror
never to be seen again.
Grandma and Little Red Riding Hood thanked the woodcutter for saving them from
the wolf and everyone ate cookies and milk. That day Little Red Riding Hood
learned an important lesson: You should never talk to strangers.

The legend of The Headless Horseman.

A client from the canteen, went to ask for money to take his son to
the doctor. And some guys took as an excuse the misfortune of his
friend, as a reason to continue having fun. One of them told him:
"We do not have money, but I can tell you a secret, it is said that if
you ride the black horse, it will take you to the cave of your old
master, which is full of gold, and you can grab whatever you want
to your son".

Of course that was a lie, they had invented that to make fun of their
friend. However, the father of the sick child, desperate, climbed up
on one of the branches of the tree to wait for the horse and jump
on it. When the horse arrived, the man fell on it; but his head had
been trapped on the branches of the tree. His body was well
attached to the horse; and the blood that fell from the head,
covered the eyes of the horse. The horse ran looking for a way to
see again. However, the blood dried on these.

Now the rider and the horse were joined by a ribbon of blood and
death. The blood ran like a river, making the earth cracks. The earth
filled with bubbles and began to burn; and by intense fire, both
bodies were swallowed by the intense earth.

The guys of the cantina did not tell what happened to anyone.
However, every morning they got the mark of a burned horseshoe,
in front of their houses.
Cinderella

Cinderella lived in a small village in the north of England. She had

two sisters; they were very ugly. She got up every morning at six
o'clock, then she made breakfast for her sisters, and afterwards she
cleaned the house. She worked all day. Her two ugly sisters were
very lazy; they never did any work because Cinderella did
everything. Cinderella was very unhappy.

One day, the postman came to the house. He gave Cinderella's

sister an envelope. In the envelope there were three invitations to
a party at the Prince's house. She said to her sisters, "Fantastic!
There is a party at the Prince's house. I can wear my new red dress
and Esmerelda can wear her new blue dress, but Cinderella can't go
because her dress is old and dirty and she hasn't got any shoes."

On Saturday at 8 o'clock, the ugly sisters went to the party.

Cinderella sat in the kitchen. She was very sad. There was a ring at
the door. Cinderella opened the door. There was a woman. She
said, "Hello! I am your Fairy Godmother. Why are you sad?"
Cinderella said, "I want to go to the party but I haven't got any
beautiful clothes." The Fairy Godmother said, "No problem, here is
a new dress and some glass shoes. There is a golden bicycle in the
street. Now you can go to the party, but you must return before 12
o'clock." Cinderella said, "Thank you." She put on the glass shoes
and the red dress. She looked very pretty. Then she went to the
party by bicycle.
The party was very good. At first, Cinderella was very shy but after
an hour, the Prince asked Cinderella to dance. They danced for a
long time. The Prince said to Cinderella, "I like your dress and you
are very pretty." Cinderella was very happy. She forgot what time it
was. Suddenly the clock rang. Cinderella said, "Oh no! I must go. It
is 12 o'clock." She ran home and at the door of the Prince's house,
she lost her shoe.

The next day, the Prince was very sad because he was in love with
Cinderella but he didn't know where she lived. He went to all the
houses in the village and said, "Do you know whose shoe this is?"
Finally, he went to Cinderella's house. Cinderella opened the door.
The Prince said, "I love you. Do you want to marry me?" Cinderella
said, "Yes." The wedding was the week after. Cinderella and the
Prince were never unhappy again.

How do Americans celebrate Halloween?

This is one of the favorite celebrations that Americans

have through the year. The reason for this is that it
allows people to dress up in costumes and go to fun
parties and events, but the ones that enjoy Halloween
the most are usually the children. They will dress up
and go out with their parents to ask for candy. Trick
or treating has been the main way to celebrate
Halloween for everyone in the US.

Halloween is also celebrated by many adults who

throw costume parties at their homes. There are also
locations that hold contests for the most amazing
looking costumes that come out to participate and the
celebration in general is quite fun for most people,
except those who are not interested having to open
their door every five minutes to give candy to kids.

There are usually pumpkin pies that are made during

this celebration because a lot of people make lanterns
out of pumpkins and they are called “Jack-o-lanterns”.
People remove the insides of the pumpkin and they
carve different shapes and faces on the outside. A
candle is then placed inside of the pumpkin in order to
give it a spooky glow that lights up the carved figures
and can be seen from a long distance.
