ANANDAM
BAITHAK
Years 3 & 4
10:30 am to 12:30 pm
Every year, the Anandam time is a time when we get together to celebrate our
children's learning in the Aha Arts programme. Children start preparing for this
event, typically held in February, right from December. In effect, this means that
the child's learning journey begins in April and ends in December, as January and
February is when the work they have done is given a final shape, and then fine-
tuned and polished. Their first or second year in the Aha programme is thus cut
short by 3 months on account of the pressure of performance.
For us, it is the beautiful process of the child discovering an interest in an art form,
finding appreciation from their peers, finding their 'Aha' moment, that is the most
precious aspect about this particular age group. We would like to give our children
a steady developmental curve to take the plunge into presenting their work to the
world when they are ready for it. We also believe that a place in the limelight is one
that must be earned at a time when a child is ready for it, and for this, we must
give them time and space while we nurture and hone their talents.
