The words science and technology can and often are used interchangeably.

But
the goal of science is the pursuit of knowledge for its own sake while the goal of
technology is to create products that solve problems and improve human life. Simply
put, technology is the practical application of science.
Science from the Latin scientia (knowledge) is a system of
acquiring knowledge based on the scientific method, as well as the organized body
of knowledge gained through such research. Science as defined here is sometimes
termed pure science to differentiate it from applied science, which is the application
of scientific research to specific human needs.
Technology is a broad concept that deals with a species' usage and knowledge of
tools and crafts, and how it affects a species' ability to control and adapt to its
environment. In human society, it is a consequence of science and engineering,
although several technological advances predate the two concepts.
Science refers to a system of acquiring knowledge. This system uses observation
and experimentation to describe and explain natural phenomena. The term science
also refers to the organized body of knowledge people have gained using that
system.
Advantages of technology

First, the evolution of technology is beneficial to humans for several reasons. At

the medical level, technology can help treat more sick people and consequently save
many lives and combat very harmful viruses and bacteria.

The invention of the computer was a very important point. Communication is thus
enhanced, and companies can communicate more easily with foreign countries.
Research is also simplified.

Disadvantages and risks of technology

On the other hand, the evolution of modern technology has disadvantages, for
example, dependence on new technology. Man no longer needs to think. Even if the
calculator is a good invention, man no longer makes mental calculation and no longer
works his memory. The decline of human capital implies an increase in unemployment.
In some areas, devices can replace the human mind.

SOCIETY

A society is a group of individuals involved in persistent social interaction, or a

large social group sharing the same spacial or social territory, typically subject to the
same political authority and dominant cultural expectations.
Effects of technology to people

Technology can have a large impact on users' mental and physical health. Being
overly connected can cause psychological issues such as distraction, narcissism,
expectation of instant gratification, and even depression. Beside affecting users' mental
health, use of technology can also have negative repercussions on physical health
causing vision problems, hearing loss, and neck strain. Fortunately, there are steps that
can be taken to help alleviate these health issues.

Effects of technology to environment

Environmental pollution, ecological systems disturbances, depletion of natural

resources and climatic changes resulting from global warming are technological
influenced. Technology is significant in development and increased productivity to
satisfy human need, but uncontrolled technology impacts environment negatively.

Effects of technology to society

There are many negative effects of overusing of technology on societies but

the three major effects could be health problems, privacy problems and social
problems. One of the negative sides of the rapid use of technology on societies is the
health issue.

The Six Types of Societies

Have you ever wondered what society was like before your lifetime? Maybe you
wonder in what ways has society transformed in the past few centuries? Human beings
have created and lived in several types of societies throughout history. Sociologists
have classified the different types of societies into six categories, each of which
possesses their own unique characteristics:

 Hunting and gathering societies

 Pastoral societies
 Horticultural societies
 Agricultural societies
 Industrial societies
 Post-industrial societies
