CHAMONIX: Ski France

Chamonix is one of Europe’s classic ski resorts.

Spectacularly beautiful, the valley and traditional
old town lie near the borders of France, Italy
and Switzerland at the foot of Europe’s highest
mountain, Mont Blanc. Chamonix has 62 lifts and
interlinks with the Mont Blanc ski pass that includes

TOUR COSTS in this brochure are in AUD and based on costs & exchange rates
as of 18 June 2010. Brochure prices are subject to change and availability
will be confirmed at time of booking. Credit card service fees will apply for
bookings made via credit card: 1.45% Visa & MasterCard, 2.5% Diners Club
and 3.1% American Express.
DEPOSITS A non refundable land deposit of AUD 500 per person is required
within 7 days of booking confirmation. Note some accommodations may
require an additional deposit (often up to 50% of the holiday) to hold the
booking. You will be notified of any additional deposits at the time of booking.
FINAL PAYMENT is due no later than 60 days prior to departure date unless
otherwise stated. Value Tours reserves the right to cancel any booking or
refuse to carry any passenger where payment has not been received by the
company within the specified time.
CHILDREN The policy for children differs for each ski property & destination.
Pricing for children will be confirmed at time of booking.
LATE BOOKINGS made within 28 days of departure will incur an additional
charge of 60 AUD per booking. Final payment is required at the time of
confirmation of booking.
AMENDMENTS Additional amendments to a confirmed booking by you will
incur a service fee of 60 AUD per revised booking. Additional amounts may
be imposed by service providers such as accommodation providers, service
operators, or airlines.
HOTEL DESCRIPTIONS & PHOTOGRAPHS: Hotel descriptions provided by
suppliers have been provided as a guide only. Room photos (when used)
may not be representative of all rooms at a particular property. Specific
accommodation and up to date rooming descriptions are available on request.
CANCELLATION Cancellations outside of 60 days of departure will incur
cancellation fees as imposed by the hotels and service operators. A
cancellation within 60 days will incur a 100% cancellation fee of the total
booking. We strongly advise you to take out insurance against cancellation
for medical or other reasons. Additional amounts may be imposed by airlines
for cancellation.
All cancellations must be received in writing by Value Tours and are not
effective until this notification has been received.
REFUNDS No refunds will be made on any unused portion of accommodation,
car rental transfers and ski passes, nor can components of the holiday be
substituted for alternative arrangements once the holiday has commenced.
Booking CONDITIONS
LIFT PASSES Ski Lift Passes are non refundable if they are lost, stolen and/
or damaged. They cannot be replaced and a new ski pass will need to be
purchased.
INSURANCE We strongly recommend that you purchase a comprehensive
travel insurance policy at the time of booking. Your travel agent or Value Tours
can arrange this for you.
AIRFARES Airlines have set aside seats which are available at these
discounted fares. Once these seats are sold, fares may revert to a higher
fare or the full fare. Certain restrictions and fees apply for amendments and
cancellations as stated above. Amendments of flights after ticketing will incur
charges. Airport taxes are included in the price and subject to change at time
of ticketing. Due to different conditions imposed by each airline, we reserve
the right to advise booking conditions once flights are confirmed.
BAGGAGE allowance for economy class travel is 20 kgs per person to Japan
and Europe or two reasonably sized luggage bags to Canada and the USA
in accordance with size limitations as advised by each carrier’s website.
(Please refer to each carrier’s website for specific regulations and up to date
information on correct size limitations). One set of ski equipment counts as
one piece of luggage.
PASSPORTS /VISAS At time of print, Australia, New Zealand and UK citizens
do not require a visa to travel to Canada for a stay of no longer than 180 days
& Japan for a stay of no longer than 90 days for Australian and New Zealand
citizens, UK citizens can have a stay of no longer than 180 days. European
countries vary in their visa requirements. If travelling to the United States,
all Australian, NZ and UK passengers must register on the Electronic System
for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) to ensure eligibility to enter the US under the
Visitor Waiver Program (VWP).
All passengers must carry a machine readable passport, valid for 6 months
after your return date. Visa and passport requirements are the responsibility
of the passenger to organise. Please check with www.dfat.gov.au for the latest
passport/visa requirements.
SNOW CONDITIONS Snow conditions within this brochure are provided by
the resorts and a guideline only. Value Tours cannot under any circumstances
be responsible for snow conditions. The cancellation /amendment fees will be
applied if cancelling or changing bookings on the basis of weather conditions.
CAR RENTAL - CANADA & USA The model stated with the description is
subject to availability. Car rental booking terms and conditions will apply.
Booking conditions with cancellation policy will be advised on confirmation
of the booking.
RESPONSIBILITIES Value Tours (Aust) Pty Ltd in arranging and organising
the tour is acting as a tour operator. Value Tours (Aust) Pty Ltd cannot be held
liable for any alterations, acts or omissions on the part of those supplying
accommodation, coach, air, or rental car services, or any other services
incidental thereto. Furthermore, the responsibilities of the air or coach carrier
participating in the tour are limited as specified in their tickets, conditions of
carriage and tariffs. All tours and quoted tour prices are based on anticipated
exchange rates, known schedules, fares and tariffs as at the time of printing.
The accommodation, coach, air and ski resort principals specifically reserve
the right to change their prices and/or seasons without notice and the extra
cost, if any, will be added to the account and notified to the passenger. Value
Tours (Aust) Pty Ltd reserve the right to cancel or withdraw any tour and
booking made for a passenger or decline to accept or retain, in its reasonable
opinion, any person as a member of a tour. The company cannot accept any
liability for losses or additional expenses due to delays or changes in air
or other transport services, sickness, weather, strikes, war, terrorist acts,
quarantine or other causes. Baggage and personal effects are the passenger’s
own responsibility throughout the tour and it is the responsibility of the
passenger to arrange insurance if desired. As land arrangements for each
entire tour, as specified in the itineraries, represent a complete package of
arrangements, an itemisation of costs will not be rendered.
GOVERNING LAW OF CONTRACT Any contract for these holidays is deemed
to be made in New South Wales and shall be governed by the law of New
South Wales.
