SOLAR POWERED AUTO IRRIGATION SYSTEM USING

IOT

ABSTRACT
Solar energy is the most abundant source of energy in the World. Solar powered
irrigation system can be a suitable alternative for farmers in the present state of energy crisis
automatic irrigation system using solar power which drives water pumps to pump water from
bore well to a tank and the outlet valve of tank is automatically regulated using controller and
moisture sensor to control the flow rate of water from the tank to the irrigation field which
optimizes the use of water.
The system is an automatic irrigation system where the irrigation pump is operated
from solar energy. It becomes tedious to manually operate the irrigation system and keep
monitoring the water level of the soil. The project requires an op-amp IC which senses the
soil moisture level. To measure the soil moisture content two copper wires are inserted into
the soil at a certain distance. The sensors send the data to microcontroller which is interfaced
to relay driver IC that initiates relay to operate pump motor to switch ON/OFF and the status
of the pump is displayed on a LCD screen.This project can implemented by using IOT
