Introduction
Blogging has become a mania that an article is being uploaded every minute. It has become one of
the leading profession of 21st century. The blog is basically the online voice among the online
crowd. Blogging gives us a platform to give our opinion, information, facts, news and tips. It is
safe to say it is the source of information for the online crowd. Blogs are generally run by
individuals but famous blogs are being run by organizations. Blogs are playing a major role in
spreading awareness about environmental issues and other topics which are not generally
discussed. This helps in increasing information of the masses. There are blogs for almost every
topic. Blogs cover approximately every aspect of life.

Our Topic
There are many fields/domains of blogging. Blogs are present on numerous topics. From a wide
range of topics, we choose Travel blog.

Why we choose Travel blog?

Travel blogs gives insight of different places. We think that travel blogs have a very significant
role among the online crowd because it provides them with information about the place they are
going to visit beforehand. The tourist knows what to see or eat in a city already by the help of a
travel blog.

The Process
The process of creating a blog was not an easy task. We did the things which we never did and it
helped us learn new things.

Hassles
 Being medical student, we had little knowledge about technology. So, we took the help of
You Tube. Most of our hassles were solved by it.
 In our group, most members knew little about blogging. One member had little know-how
on how to create blogs. This helped us a lot in whole process. But the work load was
immense for one person. The group members tried their best to learn through internet to
take part in the process of creating the blog.
 Creation of the blog is a time taking process. It did take a lot of our time but it helped us
learn new things which we never knew even existed.

There are many sites on which the blogs can be created. We searched and analyzed many sites.
The sites we analyzed were

 Wix
 Wordpress
 Blogger

All these sites are famous for their own unique tools. We found Wix to be the most impressive but
complex. We wanted to create a blog on the site which was the most accessible. After analyzing
several sites, we decided to go for Blogger. We found Blogger easy and quick to learn.

Customization
We customized our blog according to our topic.

 We decided to go with a name that was very unique. The domain name is very important
because the Google search engine recognizes it.
 We customized our theme and gave our blog a clean and minimalistic look.
 We created our About and Contact page. This gave us an opportunity to interact with our
audience.
 Our blog is about travelling, so it did not matter if we had visited a place before or not. We
still had to search for its location and things related to that place. The content writing for
our blog required research.

SWOT Analysis
Being med students, it is very difficult for us to do full time blogging. On the other hand, we are
all young and have plenty of time to excel and get our blog running. For getting our blog running
we will need a lot of resources which we lack. It really is a hurdle. The biggest problem we will
face that we have gap in our team. Most of members in our group are still learning the basics of
blogging. The major threat to us is that, that there is very high competition. It will take us a very
long time to get in the race of top travel blogs. Competition for travel blog is increasing day by
day. We will have to work every single day to get even on the 2nd or 3rd page on the search engine.
It really is a tough job to get on the 1st page of search engine. The most popular and successful
travel blog has the longest running time.

Conclusion
The process of creating a blog and analyzing other blogs introduced us to a new world. We created
the travel blog and completed the project in 3 weeks. This project, helped us to learn about xml
files. Travel blog required a lot of searching. In our group, most members had very little know-
how about computers. Rehab Abid knew how to move things around. This really helped us. Rehab
made sure that everyone learn something from this project. Rimsha did not know much about
computers but she took help from You Tube. She learnt a lot of things during the process. She was
a great help in researching and analysis of other blogs. Maryam Khurram, helped in the analysis
of other blogs. Ayesha Amjad had very minimal knowledge and she is still learning the basics of
blogging. This project will definitely help us in future. It gave us an insight on how the search
engine works. It made us realize that we should spend our time in more healthy activities.
