Second Language Acquisition: An introductory course for teachers

Instructor: Albert Ágnes email: albert.agnes74@gmail.com Time: Thursday 14:15-15:45 (building F, Kerényi, BF-036) Consultation: Thursday 13:30-14:15, 15:45-16:30, R5 452 Aim of the course: The aim of this lecture course is to introduce students to various topics of second language acquisition relevant to language learning and teaching. Topics such as communicative competence and CLT, the role of native speakers, the role of the L1 in teaching and learning, the acquisition of grammar, vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading, and writing will be covered during the course. Requirements & assessment: Students will be required to take an exam on the topics covered based on the lectures and the readings. A Reading Pack of articles will be made available electronically on Moodle.
