PREFACE

Nowadays, English is very important among nurses and health professionals.


Competence in English has become a very need for student nurses who are involved
in health services. It is due to the fact that they are required to have an ability
to communicate with other people in their field including doctors, nutritionists,
patients and their families, other professions in the health care services as well.
English for Nursing Student II is prepared for the demands to be recognized
international nurse professional. This book provides nursing students to improve
their English skills in listening, reading, speaking and writing. The contents of this
book are based on the general English and the fundamental nursing procedures taught
in previous semester, so that the contents are not something strange for the nursing
students. The contents of this book would help to facilitate the students to acquire their
abilities to perform their duties in health care services where English is used and
needed.
Furthermore this book is divided to be 14 chapters, which are: Chapter I:
Introducing Program, Chapter II: Structure and grammar focus, Chapter III: Listening
Section, Chapter IV: Reading, Chapter V: Listening Section, Chapter VI: Structure and
grammar focus, Chapter VII: Reading, Chapter VIII: Speaking and English Debate,

Reading.
Hopefully, this book can help all the nursing students have good English
competencies during their clinical practices. By mastering English for Nursing
Students Book II, it can improve the quality and value of human resources especially
nurses to find job opportunities in wide range in the world.
