Short description:
The sixth year module of internal medicine is in continuation with those of third year and
forth year. After finishing this module, students can know how to approach to treatment and
prevention of common diseases in internal medicine in Vietnam.

Expected learning outcomes of subject Match with ELOs
Knowledges:
1. To integrate knowledge of basic science, fundamental medicine, ELO1, ELO2,
pathology, therapeutics and evidence-based medicine to ELO3
establish and evaluate the treatment of common diseases in
internal medicine in Vietnam.
Skills:
2. To construct and present medical reports which include ELO4, ELO5,
diagnosis, treatment and prevention of common diseases in ELO7, ELO8
internal medicine in Vietnam.
3. To intergrate knowledge of basic science, fundamental medicine, ELO6
pathology, therapeutics and evidence-based medicine to perform
simple procedures in diagnosis, treatment and prevention of
common diseases in internal medicine in Vietnam.
- Cardiology: Carotid sinus massage, postural blood pressure
measurement
- Gastroenterology: Ascites sampling
- Respirology: Air blood gas sampling, instruction of inhaler
manipulation to patients
- Nephrology: Urine sampling
Attitudes:
4. To consult patients and their families about methods of diagnosis, ELO10, ELO11
treatment and prevention of common diseases in internal
medicine in Vietnam on the basis of respecting the ethical
standards and the codes of behaviour with patients.
5. To cooperate with other healthcare practitioners in diagnosis,
treatment and prevention of common diseases in internal ELO10, ELO11
medicine in Vietnam on the basis of respecting the ethical
standards and the codes of behaviour with colleagues.
