The purpose of this study is to determine the current strategic practice of school administrators among

primary and secondary schools. This study is considered to be important in terms of assessing vital conditions that
is happening in the school, precluding deficiencies and creating certain qualification vis-à-vis to strategic
management within schools.

The result of this study will be of great help to school administrators for it will try to suggest or at least
develop a professoina development intended for school leaders which will provide them new and better concept
about strategic management and how will they be able to apply it in the course of doing their duties and functions.

The purpose of this study: to establish primary school principals’ and teachers’ views on the level of
implementation of strategic management in primary schools. This study is considered vital in that evaluating
conditions, eliminating deficiencies and developing new qualifications in relation to strategic management in
primary schools.

Key issues from the literature focus on the corporate definitions of strategic
management and the difficulties schools have in adequately resourcing
strategic management.

Further professional development for school leaders is recommended in order to


develop and explore the opportunities for strategic thinking that exist around strategic
management.

In conclusion, the literature review has confirmed the significance of this


study and the relevance of the research questions. The implication that all
leadership activities involve some aspect of strategic thinking is an important
link between leadership and strategic management. The use of strategic
planning needs to be investigated in schools. Simply using the term strategic
planning implies that schools have some degree of control and influence in
