FORKLIFT MAINTENANCE
There are two procedures on how to keep the forklift in good running condition:
1. Pre-operational Safety Check
Who : Performed by Forklift Operator
When : Before, during and after use of forklift

2. Preventive Maintenance
Who : Performed by mechanics
When : Based on Hourmeter Reading

PRE-OPERATIONAL SAFETY CHECK (Performed by Forklift Operator)


Confirm the following before inspection:
1. The vehicle is parked on a level surface.
2. The parking brake is applied.
3. The forks are lowered to the ground.
4. The key is switch off.

EXTERIOR INSPECTION
1. Visual Inspection: such as coolant or oil leaks
2. Fluid Level Leaks: such as brake fluid
3. Engine Oil: such as oil level
4. Tires & Rims: such as tire inflation, damage, cracks, wear & tear
5. Looseness: such as hub nut
6. Dirt, Damage, Cracks: such as lamps
7. Coolant Level
8. Hydraulic Oil
9. Mast Assembly: damage, forks, looseness, chain tension

ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION (After the engine is started.)


1. Dirt, Damage, Angle: back mirror
2. Lever Operating force, Brake effectiveness: parking brake
3. Pedal free play, effectiveness: brake and clutch pedals
4. Operation of each gauge, fuel level
5. Abnormal noise, vibration, emission color, emission smell: engine
6. Turning on and off: lamps
7. Abnormal sound: horn button
8. Free play, looseness: steering wheel
9. Operation, fluid leaks: material handling device
