WALKAROUND INSPECTION

1 Check log book to see if there are any problems
from the previous shift and were they repaired.

2 Check for any oil or water leakage under and around

machine.

3 Check machine for loose, missing and/or damaged

structure and components.

4 Check tyre pressure, wear or damage, loose rim and

wheel nuts torque.

5 Check all hydraulic fittings, cylinders and hoses

for leaks, security and wear

6 Check forks tines for:

- crack and wear
- ensure the included angle is approximately 90deg
- tips are not bent

7 Check lubricants / water level:

- engine oil level
- battery electrolyte level
- radiator water level
- hydraulic oil level
- transmission oil level

8 Clean outer air filter and cyclonic pre-air filter

PRE-OPERATIONAL CHECKS

2 Adjust seat ensuring that all controls can be

comfortably operated

3 Ensure that the parking brake is on:

- turn on the key
- check all the indicator lights show
- check fuel level
- start engine
- allow engine to warm up
- ensure all indicator lights disappear

4 Check warning devices:

- horn
- revolving light
- reverse alarm
- indicator
- reversing light
- stop lights

5 Check load handling functions:

- lifting function
- tilting function
- telescoping function
- stabilizers

6 Check steering system

7 Check brake system

8 Check safety system:

- safety load indicator
- tranmission interlock
