1. PRODUCT Epoxy two-pack, corrosion-protection primer with phosphate

DESCRIPTION pigmentation. ETOKAT ACTIV primer has high mechanical and
chemical resistance and excellent adhesion on most metals, wood,
many plastics and mineral surfaces.

1.1 Field of application General metal industry, vehicles, constructions, machines, apparatuses,
chemical plants, tools, furniture and alikes.

The container for the primer is large enough to permit mixing the two

3. APPLICATION Pneumatic or airless spraying, roller or brush application.

3.1 Thinning and spray For spray application,(DIN4 mm: 20 – 30 sec.) 10 % thinner is added.

3.2 Notice During the first 48 hours of the drying phase, the temperature of substrate
and air shall not fall below + 10°C.

3.3 Precaution The regulations of the Health and Safety at Work Act are to be observed.

4. APPLICATION The following recommendations are guidelines and examples. Individual

ADVICE procedures might differ.

4.1 Substrates - Steel

- Aluminium and galvanizing
- stainless steel
- for stainless steel (exterior area), Polyester, Phenoplast, Polyamide
ETOKAT Primer is recommended

4.2 Pretreatment The surfaces shall be free from dust, dirt, corrosion products, oil, fat and
alikes. Depending on the substrate and demanded performance, either
mechanical (blasting, brushing) or chemical (chromatation, phosphatation)
pretreatment is advice.
Based on EN ISO 12944 this product must only be applied on surfaces
which were prepared by blasting according to Sa 2 ½ and ISO 8501-1 and
with a surface roughness of 20 - 50µm according to ISO 8503-1.

4.3 Suitable top coats
- ETOKAT AKTIV enamels and mica paint
- NUVOVERN enamels and mica paint
- NUVOVERN hammer tone paint
- LUXORAL spray and brush enamel
- LUMIFLEX DS enamels and mica paint
- AQUAVERN IND dispersion
stoved max. 150°C
- DUROVERN RAPID enamel

5. RESISTANCE ETOKAT ACTIV primer resists to mineral oils up to 150°C.

PROPERTIES Possibly oils should be checked in advance.
