CHARACTERISTICS » Cold applied > Single component, easy to apply > Can be applied on damp substrates > Dual advantage of curing as wel as protection of concrete » Can be opplied in closed or confined areas. > Woter based » Good resistance against chloride and sulphate ions » Has good adhesion to most building substrates > Seamless/joint free FIELDS OF APPLICATION Con be used for 0 wide variety of appli which includes the following: » Protective coating on conerete foundations > Curing compound on freshly cas! concrete structures > Dompproof membrane in sandwich construc- > Vapor proof borrier coating for interior & exte- rior floors & walls APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS The cpplication temperature should be between 4°C to 45°C. Application procedures moy vary slightly depending upon site conditions. The gen- eral recommended guidelines for the application of the bitumen coating system isos follows: Surface preparation The surface shall be cleaned thoroughly of ll contominonts ike dus, races of curing compound, cil and grease. Light mechonical grinding/grit blosting/high pressure water jet may be used to clean the surface of all the contaminants depend- ing on the degree of contamination on the surface to be coated. All surface imperfections and pro- trusions shall be removed and repoired. Struc- turolly unsound and friable concrele must be re- moved and repaired with a suitable POLYCRETE* concrete repair morter. ns, Priming itis highly recommended to apply @ priming coat prior fo the application of the POLCOAT RBE coat- ing on the substrate. The primer can be prepored in the site by diluting PowcoaT RBE with 20% wa- ter and applying this diluted coat os the primer. For very dry and porous substrates apply two coats of this primer. The primer can be applied to damp or freshly cost concrete surfaces olso. However, it should not be applied on waterlogged or flowing water areas, Further coois shall be applied only of- tor the primer coat dries off completely. In cose of delay in application ofthe top coat for more than 24 hours, afresh coat of primer shall be re-coplied. Foundation Dompproofing Stirthe contents ofthe drum thoroughly before ap- plication to remove all sediments. Depending on the dry film thickness required, opoiy the rubberized bitumen cocting @1-4m?/lt,/coot. On vertical ar 03, itis ecommmended to apply the coating in mul- tiple layers in order to avoid sagging of the heavy bodied coating. Subsequent coats shall be ap- plied only ofter the previous coot dries off com- pletely and shall be applied ot right angles to the previous coat. Clean dry sand may be broad. casted onto the wet coating fo provide a key for the subsequent coats and achieve o greater dry film thickness. The coating should be applied and fin- ished up to the DPC level. Ic pister or coment render is o be applied on the bitumen coated sur face, clean dry sand shall be broadcosted on fo the coating whilst itis sill wet. Leave the cooting for curing fora minimum period of 48 hours before applying any protection board or backliling. Care shall be foken to ensure that the firs! coat is not punclured during the application of the second coat, However, ifthe coating is damaged, the area can be readily over coated provided the surface preparation is done properly. Protection Powcoat RBE coating should be protected from getting damaged due to the ongoing site activities cond during backliling. Coating laid on Forizontal surfaces con be protected either by a cement sand screed (50mm thick) or by an asphaltic protection 4 - boord (BrruBOARD)*.
