SUMMARY OF FINDINGS AND CONCLUSION

This chapter contains the summary of findings and the conclusion about the data gathered from

the survey conducted. Written in the summary are the results of the survey without detailed

information. Generalizations will be stated in the conclusion. Overall, chapter 5 of this research

will show the end-results of the study.

Summary

This study was conducted for the purpose of determining of how the said programs can

be if it will be implemented in the Philippines. To accomplish that goal it become a necessary

to reach some prerequisite goals. Determining what these programs means and hoe it will affect

teenagers assumed a high degree importance during the literature review conducted for the

descriptive method of research was utilized and the survey instrument was used for gathering

data. A survey instrument were developed and was distributed to 30 students from the

University of Southern Philippines Foundation. All respondents were asked if intervention

programs are effective in reducing teen pregnancy and HIV rates and majority of them are in

favor of these programs. They were asked if they are in favor of school-based condom

distribution and majority of them are not in favor. They were asked if they are in favor of the

accessible technology-based program and majority of the respondents are in favor to be

implemented. They were asked if they are in favor of giving teachers proper training programs

in teaching sex education and most of the students are in favor of this program for their teachers.

They were asked to choose programs that should be implemented in schools and/or community
and/or community and most of them choose comprehensive education and the least one is the

school-based condom distribution program. They were asked why they choose the program in

question no.7 and their answers are based on their preferences. And lastly, they were asked if

they know progams that are not mentioned in the study and most of the respondents do not

know any other program.

Conclusion

The main problem of this study is to know the different and effective intervention

programs that were for reducing the rates of teen pregnancy and HIV; to know their level of

effectiveness on the eradication of the said rates. Also, to gather information from 30 randomly

chosen students from the University of Southern Philippines Foundation about whether they

are in favor or not of the intervention programs mentioned. The meta analysis resulted of five

different programs for the school and the community. This information was encoded in the

questionnaire and the respondents were asked 9 questions related to the said information. The

data gathered from the respondents had its differences of preferences and beliefs but it can be

inferred that most of them would want at least one intervention program to be implemented in

their school and/or community. This study was conducted for the purpose of being an eye

opener for the people who has the ability and the power to start another solution to eradicate

this problem . It can also be a reality check for teenagers so they can use their voice in

spreading awareness to others and to themselves as a way to start a change for the betterment

of the future. This can also be a reminder for all the people in context because although the

problem of the teen pregnancy and HIV rates is apparent, it can sometimes be forgotten by

many. Social problems such as this can only be reduced or eradicated if the government and

the people of the community create a peaceful agreement of action and that if both party will

help hand in hand in creating a solution because all problems has its own solution.
