INTRODUCTION CONCLUSION

A common process which all human beings have to face is aging. Aging leads to
inability in maintenance of homeostasis and risk of dying increases. Aging of skin is a
dermatologic change that progresses as a person ages or is exposed to ultraviolet
radiations (UVR) if no treatment is adopted. The symptoms of aging begin to appear at
the age of 20 as the collagen content per unit area starts decreasing, there is 1%
decrease in collagen content per unit area of the skin every year. Aging is a result of
cumulative damage to tissues when body’s natural ability to repair them is lost. There
are various reasons for aging of skin. It will naturally age with increasing loss of
flexibility and ageing as collagen and elastin within the epidermis slowly cross-links
and become less elastic.These effects result from structural and metabolic changes
effected by biochemical reactions in the connective tissues. These biochemical
reactions are accelerated by free radicals. Environmental agents such as UV rays
aggravate the effects of free radical reactions and oxidative stress. Aging of the skin is
caused by two processes:Intrinsic process and Extrinsic process. Everyone believes in
herbal formulations and cosmetics because of aid in building good health naturally
with fewer side effects. Unlike chemically synthesized, highly concentrated drugs that
may produce many side effects, herbs can effectively help to regain the body's
defenses. Natural anti-aging skin care primarily targets approaches to slow or reverse
Phytochemical screening of plant extract rich in carbohydrate,
alkaloids, tannins and flavonoids. The present study showed that
Diospyros kaki cream could be used as anti-aging cream because
its antioxidant activity equivalent to ascorbic acid. A cream
containing Diospyros kaki fruit extract was successfully developed.
Physical evaluations showed acceptable appearance, pH, viscosity,
washability and spreadability. The results indicated that
formulations 2 and 4 shows good drug content 78.79% and 85.19%
respectively. From the above parameters of evaluation, formulation
F2 and F4 were evaluated for their release studies through egg
membrane. % CDR in 2.5 hrs 84.02% and 78.23% respectively. As
TABLE NO. 1 we know that herbal formulations are minimal or no side effect, so
we can use as an anti-aging cream.
