The role of this committee is to take decisions about education system, contents of courses,
exams, educational manuals, the choice of APPI masters, to black list members, to manage the
complaints not resolved by the secretary, and to propose amendments to the internal rules about
the pedagogical choices for Paragliding activity.

Participation in the Pro-workshop will certify that the tandem pilot or APPI instructor in the latest
technical knowledge in the field of equipment and pedagogic for the instructors.
These workshops are intended for

There are also for advanced pilots
who wish to improve their skills.

The duties of the instructor
Comply with the safety standards and ensure the safety of its students is the first and
fundamental rule of any APPI instructor.
Work with material in good condition. Paragliders must have regular check and rescue repack
regularly.
Comply with APPI rules and regulations.
Comply with local law concerning flying or instructing.
Follow the APPI education system in order to validate the students properly, and pass a
corresponding examination at the desired level.
Register all students in the APPI system.
Report any case of accident to APPI, this will be confidential.
In case of grave fault and after investigation, a member may be excluded by the APPI board
or by the pedagogical committee, and black listed.
Offer a free assistance to any APPI member with the grade of APPI pilot showing up on your
site: explain important infos about your site, weather of the day, and one check flight.
If the pilot have no requirements for the flying site, a course should be proposed.
It is now asked of tandem pilots engaged in commercial operations, to deliver a flight certificate
to their passenger with the school name and contact, if possible the representative
federation or association with name and contact, and a link to APPI International website for
the pilot review, giving the opportunity to the passenger to fly again in tandem or learn all
around the world with APPI.

Important rules to register a member

For new individual members: Registration of a new member can be done by anyone for free
on the website, but only an instructor can validate qualifications.
For new instructors: Registration must be done by an APPI Pedagogical Committee Master.

To register a member, an instructor has to work in a school, those who do not already working
in an APPI school, can create their own APPI school.
An instructor can teach only in one school at the time.

The instructor given a course has to register the student 'in progress' before starting the course
and to validate the course after completion.

All qualifications/specialties have prerequisites, please pay attention to each course/specialty

requirements.
For validation which need 2 differents Instructors, the instructor in charge register the student
'in progress', the second instructor will have to complete the validation.

Once registering a new student, the APPI permanent certification card will be issued within
maximum 45 days after the validation from the instructor and the fee payment, except if one
of the qualification is in progress, in this case the shipment of the card will be postponed.

 Atlas zones
An Atlas zone is a flight area bounded geographically, well known locally and used for expeditions
or XC flights by a 'Fly guide' or Sky Guide 'APPI.
Actually, any affiliated instructor can create an Atlas zone.
You will need to prepare for that photos of the place, a blurb, a series of information about
this zone, and GPS coordinates of the area.
This requires to work on the presentation to get a nice visual display and easy to read..
