MD4 External Alarms Configuration

Phase: ONE: Smart packs Configuration:

Step 1: Install Power Suite program

 Unpack the .rar file (ps_PowerSuite-3v3_Installation-Files_(upgrade-from-v2,v3)


 Double click on setup icon.
 Proceed with next until it finishes installation.

Step 2: Smart Pack connection and cabling.

 Connect your laptop to the smartpack located above the rectifiers using the usb cable in the
port shown in the figure.

 Make sure that the two Ethernet cables are punched down in the DDF module using this order:
 1st Ethernet cable:
o Blue
o White/blue
o Green
o White/green
o Orange
o White/orange
o Brown
o White/brown
 nd
2 Ethernet cable:
o Green
o Black/green
o Brown
o Black brown
o Grey
o Black/green
o Yellow
o Yellow/blue

Step 3: Starting powersuite and upload configuration.

 Start the powrsuite program using this icon shown in the desktop.

 In the startup screen click on connect as shown.

 A small window will pop up for connection, click on find COM-port #, and insert the number
shown in the small box next to it in the communication port box, as shown in the figure.
NB: for the password: 0003

 Wait for it to finish loading.

 From the top menu click on tools and then Import/Export Configuration (XML file)

 Select read from file then select open to browse.


 Select the file Model_site_alarms and click open.

 Then Click on next till it starts uploading like shown in the following figures.

 Once its done click on OK and close the program.

Phase Two: Configuring the Alarms in the NEM.

 Open the NEM and from the top menu choose allocate configuration rights.

 Again click on configurations from the top menu and then Commissioning wizard.

 Click on next till you reach the external alarms tab (click ok if you pass by any error)

Fill in the 1 8 alarms and keep them active with the following order:

o Site on Battery
o Rectifier Down
o Over Temperature
o Door Alarm
o Rectifier Major –Fan-
o Fan Fail
o Battery Deep Discharge
o Battery Low

 Click on the upper next and set all the 8 alarms on inactive mode.

Do this step for the rest of the 7 tabs.

 Click on lower next and press ok then finish.

 Check the alarms tab and make sure that you don’t have contact alarms other than the Door
Alarm.
 Close the Door while connected to see that the Door Alarm was cleared.

TEST OF ALARMS

1. You can use a magnetic object to make contact with the door magnet, this will deactivate door
alarm, and start fan if fan is ok.
2. Mains breaker on top right corner can be switched off, to test for Site on Battery alarm
3. Battery low and Battery Deep Discharge will lead to site going down, after it’s been on battery
for some time.
