II.5.A. Description by Area
Provide sufficient facilities to ensure Employee Satisfaction (ES).

II.5.A.-.1. Training Room


Main Points
- Provide a training room for service staff education.
- Locate in or near to the service shop.
- As the training room will often get dirty, make sure that the
floor, walls and ceiling are made from safe materials that are
easy to clean.

II.5.A.-.2. Technician Lounge and Locker Room


Main Points
- Locate in or near to service shop.
- Create a clean and comfortable lounge where technicians can
get together and relax.
- Also provide a locker room so that technicians can change
clothes and dress themselves.
- Provide separate male and female locker rooms, and provide
key-type lockers.

II.5.A.-.3. Showers and Changing Room


Main Points
- Provide separate male and female shower rooms/changing
rooms for technicians near to the service shop.
- Locate the shower room and changing room next to each
other. It is possible to combine them with the locker room.
- If necessary, also provide a changing room for office
employees near to the office area.

II.5.A.-.4. Employee Toilets


Main Points
- Provide male and female employee toilets in the office area,
out of sight of customers.
- If the service shop is spread over many floors or a wide area,
provide male and female toilets as necessary on each floor or
area to ensure work efficiency.
- Just like the customer toilets, the employee toilets should
always be kept clean to ensure a satisfied workforce.
- Install water efficient toilets.
- Consider installation of grey water system (e.g. capturing
rainwater from roof to supply the sanitary water in the toilets).

II.5.A.-.5. Canteen
Main Points
- The canteen should have windows to create a bright and
relaxing space.
- Determine the size of the canteen from the number of
employees.
- If necessary, provide separate canteens for technicians and
office staff.

II.5.A.-.6. Pantry
Main Points
- Set up a pantry in an efficient location.
- If an employee pantry is necessary, locate out of sight of
customers.
- If a special pantry for technicians is required, locate it inside
the technician lounge.

II.5.A.-.7. Employee Parking


Main Points
- Priority should be given to allocating the areas for customer
parking and service parking (e.g. waiting for service parking).
Locate the employee parking in the rear of the site, on the
roof, or on a separate site.
- If necessary, also provide bicycle and motorcycle parking
space within the employee parking area.
- Keep separate from customer parking, service parking and the
new vehicle storage yard.

- The size of each vehicle parking space should be about


2.5 m x 5.0 m.
- The size of each bicycle or motorcycle parking space should
be about 1.0 m x 2.5 m.
- Paint (white) dividing lines on the road surface.
- Determine the size of the parking area from the number of
employees
