MESSAGE
The National Seed Industry Council’s dedication to ensure availability of quality seeds for the farmers, and contributing to sustainable
Philippine agriculture, rolls out to strong collaboration of various sectors involved in the industry. The key players are always at its best
to play their part and share their expertise for the advancement of our seed industry. In fact, the whole NSIC organization has been
working very well for the past two decades, keeping in view of the Council’s current structure and at the same time meeting with future
challenges.
This edition of the NSIC catalog features the NSIC registered varieties for CY 2018, the consolidation of the outcome of the two Council
meetings. The 2018 varietal registration covers rice (22), Corn (21), Ornamentals (6), Field legumes (4), Tobacco (3), Fruit Crop - Mango
(2), and Plantation Crop – Coffee (1), with a total number of 59 registered varieties.
To all of you doing fantastic job, you have been doing for our industry all through the years.
Indeed, hard work and dedication of all involved will always be one of our greatest assets, as NSIC continues to expand its varietal
registration work across crops year-on-year. Each ability and contribution is an important key to the success of the entire registration
scheme and implementation of Republic Act 7308. Hence, we want to take this opportunity to let you know that you all are valued and
your efforts are very much appreciated.
