Teacher's Activities

A. Activity

Good morning, class.

Let us all stand for the prayer. Please lead the prayer, Apol.
Please take your seat.
Before we start with our formal discussion, let us have an activity.
Circle
Draw a point somewhere in the midle of a sheet of paper. Now, using a ruler, mark 20
other points that are 5cm from the first point.Compare your work with that of your
seatmates.What shape do you recognize?
You can probably recognize circles even when you were young. When you hear the
word circle, round shapes may come to your mind. Now,we will learn how circles are
shaped this way.In the activity above, you saw that points that points that are same
distance from a fixed points yields a round shape.
B. Analysis

1.Circle
Again what is the figure that we form in our activity?
Very good!
So what is circle?Yes,Mae.
A circle is the set of all points that are the same distance from a fixed point.
Nice!
And what do we call on that fixed point?Alan.
Center!
That’s right!
And the segment from the center to the circle is called what?Yes,Lanie.
Why do all radius of a circle have the same length?
Yeah !that’ right.
Which the following are circles?figures

B.Terms related to circles.

What are the parts of the cirle can you give me one?Joan.
Chord is a segment that connects any two points of a circle.
Excellent!
Another?Yes,Mae.
Diameter is a chord thet passes through the center of a circle.and it is the longest chord
of a circle and twice the lenght of a circle’s radius.
How about you?Kael.
A central angle Ma’am is an angle whose vertex is on the circle’s center, and whose
sides intersect the circle at two points.
And lastly?Cris.
An arc is a portion of a circle determined by a central angle.

Very good!

D.Abstraction
Brilliant!

That’s all about what?

Very good, That is all about the circle.

Very good, Are there any question? Clarification?

It is clear?

Very good class,

Let us now have our quiz.

Get one-fourth (1/2) of paper and answer the following.

D.Application

A.The teacher let the students read the question on the board and let them answer each
number.

Draw circle whose radius is a 5 cm.thaen draw the following objects.Write “imposible “if
the object cannot be drawn.

1.One chord measuring 2cm.

2.One chord measuring 10cm.

3.One chord measuring 12cm

4.Three radii measuring 5cm

5.One cetral angle measuring 90

B.Determine whether each statement is true or false

1.Two radii always have the same length.

2.Two chords always have the same length.

3.All chords are diameters.

4.All diameter are chords.

5.All chords intersect at one point.

ANSWER
