Music Video Shooting Script

Description of visuals
We see the female character asleep in
her bed in the dark. The camera
moves from one side of her bed to the
other in a smooth motion. Then the
angle changes to directly above her
head and we move closer into her
face as she opens her eyes looking
sleepy and unaware.
Then we flash to see her walking down
a street alone looking down at the
floor with a glum look on her face.
Then by fading in the male character
appears next to her as they walk
together along the street. Her head
drifts up as she looks him in the eye.
We then cut back to her bedroom
where she is sat curled up on her floor
with her head in her hands rocking
backwards and forwards. She looks
very upset and anxious.
It then switches back to the outside
clips and we find her in a park on an
empty field alone. She begins to
dance. The make character then fades
into the scene and they dance
together. The dance is smooth and
emotional and we can clearly see the
connection between the two of them.
Flashing back into the bedroom the
girl is sat on a chair looking at a photo
album filled with pictures of the male
dancer.
It then fades back into the outside
scene and we see the girl dancing on
the field. The camera will move in a
circular motion in the opposite
direction to the dancer. As we circle
around her the boy fades in and out
and they dance together.
After this we go back into the
bedroom and we see her looking
glumly out of the window. She then
turns so see a picture of the boy in a
frame beside her bed. She walks
towards it picks it up and looks at it.
She then slams it face down and take
a big sigh of relief to show that she
has overcome the sadness and grief.
We then flash back to the field for the
last time and they are dancing
together. The camera will be low to

we see her run away from her grief

motion and will fade to darkness to

the lighting changes with the weather.
I want the weather to be dull and dark
to fit the sad theme of my music
video.
Sound Information: Background noise
from surrounding roads and houses.
There will also be noise from the wind
and trees moving in the wind.
Power Information: In the field location
there is no power sources available to
use.
Hazards: Trips and slips from the wet
surface in the field. Electric shock
from the camera in the rain. Close to a
road.

Solutions: I need to make sure that I
check the weather before I film and
make sure that it fits the theme I
want. I don’t need a light because I
need it to look dark.
Solutions: I do not need any solutions
for this as I will not be using sound for
my music video it will just be the song
playing in the background.
Solutions: I will need to make sure
that I charge my camera fully before I
begin my filming so that it doesn’t run
out during the process.
Solutions: We need to watch where we
step and walk carefully so that we
don’t slip on the wet grass. I also need
to take an umbrella to protect the
camera and be careful when using it
in the rain. We also need to stay away
from the nearby road.

Solutions: Not many lights will be
needed as I want it to look dark as she
is depressed so wouldn’t turn lights
on. This means I won’t use lights but I
will slightly open the curtains so that it
is bright enough to see hert.

for this as I will not be using sound for
my music video it will just be the song
playing in the background.

camera equipment and watch where
we walk when moving around the
room.

Contingency Plan
What are your plans for if something goes wrong? What back
up actors, locations and equipment do you have?

Unfortunately I do not have any other actors that I could use that can
dance which is a necessary part of my music video. Therefore if
something went wrong such as an actor being sick or unable to spend
some time filming I will arrange to have another possible day for filming
with my actors. I will make sure that the people I am using are available
on the day I am filming and also on the back up filming day for if
something came up or if I needed to re shoot some scenes.

I am only using two locations in my music video. These are a bedroom and
a field. I made sure that I used ordinary locations that were easily
accessible. Therefore if something goes wrong I will easily be able to find
another field in my area and use one of my actor’s bedrooms instead of
mine if needed. Also if the filming day was ruined by rain or other forms of
bad weather I would not be able to film on that day. Therefore I have
other days arranged with my actors which can be used for filming if
something happens.

The camera I will use is very reliable however if it were to break or

become unusable I have another camera which I can easily gain access to
in an emergency. If my SD card became full I have many spear ones at
home which I can use to complete the filming process. I also have a tripod
which I will use to keep my camera steady. If this broke or became
unusable I will have to use the other filming day and hire out a tripod from
the college before this day.
