CHAPTER 1

THE PROBLEM AND ITS SETTING

Introduction

As stated by Ridley, 2017 Boarding has given us the opportunity to build strength of

character and has enabled us to grow in areas such as resilience, by living with wide range of

people coming from completely diverse background.

Dealing with different characters in a boarding community has built strength of character

that we may not have previously had. It has also allowed us to build special bonds with people

opportunity to socialize with. The most beneficial part of decision to board is that you are

guaranteeing ourselves a wide network of friends and experiences. It will give us the opportunity

to fit into a supportive culture that has encouraged us to develop as a person. Learning

Independence, understanding priorities. Independence might be the greatest through the

elements, do their own laundry, and get up in the morning. Parents aren’t there to shield them

from natural causes and effect. Boarding house are good place to fail and succeed, which makes

them great places to learn. It’s a controlled freedom. A study place can be everywhere as long as

the student is comfortable with it. There are many study places in which the student can choose.

Deciding where to study can be just as important as how much or how hard a student studies.

According to Weiss, 2004 It is the ability to live independently and productively in the

community and to live with the same freedom of choice as a non-disabled person. So it’s not that
University of Perpetual Help System Laguna – JONELTA
Basic Education Department – Senior High School Level
A.Y. 2018 - 2019

you are living on your own but that you control where you live and have the same range of

choices as a non-disabled person.

Independent living really is an idea, a concept, a thought process. You apply this thought

process to your lifestyle. I would think that even if a person were in prison and the only choice

that they could make would be whether they would eat their food when they first got it, or eat it

an hour later, they would still be practicing Independent Living (Semkiw, 2000).

Theoretical Framework

Theory of Student Development

The theory of student development underpins our study. This states that the student's entire

environment is educational and must be used to help the student develop fully. This also requires

the support of certain proponents or authors as follows.

Clarkson (2006) explains that this theory, which is based on general human development

theories, provides explanations and descriptions of the growth processes common to student

experiences. She uses the hierarchy of needs of Maslow to explain her thoughts in her

Introduction to the theory of student development. Clarkson believes that getting a good night 's

sleep, getting the necessary nutrients and staying free from life-threatening diseases or injuries

are critical to well-being, but these are generally not enough for most college students. She also

adds that college students can generally meet their security and safety needs; however, this can

only be achieved if they live in a familiar environment free of danger. Finally, Clarkson says that
University of Perpetual Help System Laguna – JONELTA
Basic Education Department – Senior High School Level
A.Y. 2018 - 2019

new students typically spend a lot of time and energy seeking acceptance from colleagues and

developing friends on campus, so it is not that easy to form social groups.

De Larrosa (2000) explains that the Chickering model known as the "Seven Vectors of Student

Development "(1969) can explain a specific theory of student development. She explains that

these vectors try to illustrate how the development of a student in the university environment

affects his or her emotional, social, physical and intellectual being in a university environment.

Chickering and Raisser (1993) includes the following additional vectors: competence

development, emotional management, movement towards interdependence through autonomy,

development of mature interpersonal relationships, identity development, purpose development

and integrity development (De Larrosa, 2000).

The concepts underlying this study include that of Chickering (1974), cited by Kane (1990),

which states that a life in a residence hall has a significant impact on students at all stages of

development. Kane (1990) as a positive effect of staying in residence halls on their personal

development. According to Blimling (1993), living in a residence hall does not guarantee a

student rich educational experience.

Statement of the Problem

This study aimed at providing an in-depth description and understanding of the experiences of

the student boarders of selected grade-12 students of University of Perpetual Help System

Laguna-Isabela Campus for the school year 2018-2019.

Specifically, this qualitative inquiry answered the following questions:

1.) What are the experiences of student boarders?

2.) What are the problems they have encountered?

3.) How do they manage to overcome identified challenges?

Assumptions of the Study

The researchers based this study on the following assumptions:

1.) Student boarders experienced the positive and negative outcomes of living away from

home.

2.) Being homesick, budgeting allowances, lacking of parental guidance are examples of

challenges and problems of students who are living in boarding houses.

3.) With the presence of their co-boarders, family and being optimistic, are ways to encounter

their identified problems and challenges.

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES

Foreign Literature

Depending on where the apartment is, students can also have to pay for their travel

expenses and troubles. It could also affect students ' time spent on school work and could lead to

a reduction in grades (Gladen, 2010).

The main benefit for campus students is that they are a short walk from the campus

library, which can help students succeed in their research papers. Although most students

perform better academically, some students suffer because they cannot concentrate on their

studies, because sleeping is rarely solemn (Tsavo Media Canada Inc., 2010).

According to Flowers (2004), Flowers focuses exclusively on African American students

and finds that measures of personal and social development skills which he suggests are essential

for successful academic achievement in the dormitories.

There are many places where students live, some of which are school dorms, apartments

and their homes. A living environment for students is more than a place to live, it is a society in

which a student is a member (Dakin, 2008)

LOCAL LITERATURE

Under Brillantes et al. (2012) the proximity and affordability of Filipino university students are

the two most important factors in considering a dormitory or boarding house. Living in
University of Perpetual Help System Laguna – JONELTA
Basic Education Department – Senior High School Level
A.Y. 2018 - 2019

university dormitories offers students great convenience. All dormitories are strategically located

near facilities offering basic services related to dining, printing, health, banking, religion and

basic necessities to university students.

Velasquez-Garcia and Garcia (2016) noted that the majority of universities in the Philippines

offer traveling students and very few other residential facilities on campus. Living arrangements

for students in the Philippines can vary from staying with parents to staying in a pension. The

majority of dormitories and boarding houses in the Philippines are private and the quality of the

facilities and living conditions vary and are largely unregulated.

Students will be highly satisfied with the environment in general if the institutional environment

is welcoming (Billups, 2008).

FOREIGN STUDIES

According to a study by Jordyn & Byrd (2003), one of the crucial points in the life of a young

adult is when they leave home. They are facing the challenge of living independently with

minimal support from their families. Recent studies have shown that young adults ' living

arrangements have an impact on the various aspects of the child's personal development. It is

said that young adults who do not reside at home face greater difficulties, but use a more direct

way to deal with the problems they face.

In addition to the effects on the personal development of young adults, some studies have also

focused on the impact of the students ' living arrangements on their academic performance.

These students claimed they were more ambitious, independent and better prepared to attend
University of Perpetual Help System Laguna – JONELTA
Basic Education Department – Senior High School Level
A.Y. 2018 - 2019

academic institutions away from their families. Most also said that when they live alone, they

could concentrate more on their studies. (Wodtke’s, 2010)

LOCAL STUDIES

The importance of housing conditions in an academic institution in Guihulngan City is not an

endemic concern, but a national concern. A study carried out by Ruel a. Brilliantes, et al (2012)

entitled "The living conditions of university students in boarding houses and dormitories in

Davao City, Philippines "determined university students ' living conditions in boarding houses

and dormitories. This is based on the assumption that the physical and environmental

components of these residential facilities can affect the holistic well-being of the students.

This study implies that the relationship of students' academic performance and the physical

conditions in terms of lighting and electrical facilities, ventilation and spacing has a high

relationship in terms of their grades though their responses were only good in physical conditions

on their lodging houses, This study was concurred by the study of Brilliantes (2012) that the

academic performance of students has improved during their stay in the boarding houses or

dormitory because they can accomplish academic requirements efficiently during their stay in the

boarding house. Meanwhile, the fire protection facilities and study room has a "marked/moderate

relationship" in terms of their academic performance.

Synthesis

The studies show that house ambiance in their apartments and boarding houses are a big factor

for concentration in their studies. Furthermore, the odds of living in an apartment is beneficial to

those students whose houses are from faraway. Lastly, the studies show that leaving their own

houses at young age can be crucial to a student and can affect their personal development

throughout.

CHAPTER 3

RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODOLOGY

This chapter will discuss the research design, the selection of the participants as well as

the instrumentation and validation, data gathering procedures and treatment and analysis of data.

This chapter described and discussed how the researchers gathered the necessary data and

information that was used in the entire study. This chapter discusses also the type of research that

will be use, the research method and the research locale where the study was conducted.

Research Design

This study used qualitative research in gathering information regarding the experiences of

student boarders of selected grade 12 students. According to Bryman and Bell (2007) Qualitative

research is inductivist, constructionist, and interpretivist, but qualitative researchers always don’t

subscribe to all three methods.

A phenomenological approach study is used to enable the researchers to generate data and used

to gain an understanding of underlying reasons, and motivation. According to Creswell (2013), a

phenomenological study describes the common meaning of several individuals of their lived

experience of a concept or a phenomenon.

University of Perpetual Help System Laguna – JONELTA
Basic Education Department – Senior High School Level
A.Y. 2018 - 2019

The researchers considered phenomenological approach the appropriate method and approach in

this study, it is because the researchers can personally interview the participants that was

conducted.

Sources of Data

The sources of data in this study were the responses of 8-15 students from University of

Perpetual Help System Laguna-Isabela Campus identified living in a boarding house, in Minante

1, Cauyan City Isabela.

Participants of the Study

The participants of the study were the selected student boarders of the grade 12 Senior High

School of the University of Perpetual Help System Laguna-Isabela Campus. The school is

located at Minante 1, Cauayan City Isabela.

Instrumentation and Validation

The questions that the researchers constructed was validated by the research adviser and

those who are authorized to validate the questions.

The researcher provided the interview guide to the selected students of grade 12 in University

of Perpetual Help System Laguna-Isabela Campus for the participants of the study. The handling

of questionnaires was done personally by the researcher and to be facilitated by the retrieval of

responses.

Basic Education Department – Senior High School Level
A.Y. 2018 - 2019

Data Gathering Procedure

The researchers asked permission to conduct a research to the participants and addressed

to Ma'am Raquel M. Tabaday, Ma'am Michelle B. Estillore, and the Senior High School

Coordinator.

The researchers asked permission to the interviewee to be their participant. As far as data

collection tools were concerned, the conduction of the research involved the use of a semi-

structured questionnaire, wherein the researchers read the guide questionnaire to the participants.

The answered questions was significantly contributed to our collection of data on determining of

the Experiences of Student Boarders towards the selected grade 12 students of University of

Perpetual Help System Isabela Campus.

Treatment and Analysis of Data

The data that the researchers gathered through an interview from the selected Grade 12

student boarders of University of Perpetual Help System Laguna-Isabela Campus was

transcribed and interpreted from a video or voice recorded, as the participants agreed.

Ethical Considerations

The researchers assured that all the data gathered would be treated to utmost

confidentiality for privacy concern and to them that they can withdraw from the study anytime.

(so what usually the challenges that you been encountered?)

Participant 2: challenges?

(Challenges? When you are alone)

Interviewer: so paano mo po namamanage yung ano, how do you manage to overcome

identified challenges?

(How do manage to overcome identified challenges)

(Sometimes, I call my friend there.)

Interviewer: and ano po uhmm what are the benefits of being an independent student?

(So what are the benefits of being in an independent student?)

(When you lack in money, you need extra money but you will just borrow to someone to
spend some money and wait for your parents to send you your next allowance)

Interviewer: okay po so SOP number 2 po ate how did you handle challenges po?

(Okay SOP number 2 how did you handle challenges?)

(Yes loneliness, I call my friends to come over)

Interviewer: what do you think is the greatest challenges you have encountered being a

(What do you think is the greatest challenges you have encountered being a student
boarder)

Participant 2: greatest challenges?

(The time that I get sicked no one take care of me)

Interviewer: what are your ways to adjust in such a new environment?

(What are your ways to adust in such a new environment?)

(Because I know them already that’s why it’s easy for me)

Interviewer: ah so sa number 3 po e what are the strategies that you have used to overcome that
kind of problem?

(Number 3 question what are the strategies that you have used to overcome that kind of
problem?)

(What I have said earlier I call my friends and i call my family for me not to miss them.)

Interviewer: so next po last what you recommend to the future boarders po?

(So last question what you recommend to the future boarders?)

(As early as possible they learn because it is difficult.)

Interviewer: Thank you po ate.

Interviewer: so good afternoon po ate pwede ka po ba mainterview?

(Good morning, can we interview you?)

Participant 3: of course

(Ofcourse)

Interviewer: So eto po yung question number 1 what are the experiences that you have
encountered in living in a boarding house po or apartment?

(Question number one what are the experiences that you have encountered in living in a boarding
house?)

Participant 3: Since sa boarding house wala namang dun sa pagboboarding ko is mama natuto
akong maging independent so everytime na ano weekly ka talaga kelangan mag laba.

(Since my mom is not there, I’ve learn to be independent, every week I do laundry)

Interviewer: so is there any struggles in living in an apartment po what are those?

(So is there any struggles in living in an apartment? What are those?)

parang ang laki ng adjustment so kelangan kong maglaba meron dn time pala na nagluluto ako.

(Yes, I get used to it that my mom is doing everything for me, but when I went on an apartment
house there is a big adjustment, so I need to wash my clothes and cook foods by myself.)
University of Perpetual Help System Laguna – JONELTA

Interviewer: So ano po uhmm how did you handle those challenges and po?

(So uhmm, how did you handle those challenges po?)

Participant 3: ahmm syempre kailangan mong i-congquer yan since walang ibang gagawa ako
lang

(Uhmm, of course I need to conquer since no one will do that for me.)

Interviewer: so what are the benefits of being an independent student po?

(So what are the benefits of being an independent student?)

Participant 3: since ayun magisa lang ako theirs a cases na hindi nako nagpapaalam na lumalabas
since hindi rin nila malalaman

(Since I am alone there are cases that I don’t need to ask permission to go out since they will not
know.)

Interviewer: and also what do you think is the greatest challenges that have encountered being a
student boarders?

(And also what do you think is the greatest challenges that have encountered being a student
boarders?)

(There is a time that you are tired of school, after school I need to clean my apartment unlike if
I’m at house I don’t need to do anything, I can lay on my bed as long as I want, but when you are
a boarder you are the one who will do everything)

Interviewer: okay po, what are your ways to adjust in such a new environment po mas lalo na po
sa mga kaboardmates mo po

(Okay, what are your ways to adjust in such a new environment, mostly in your co-boarders?)

ganun.
University of Perpetual Help System Laguna – JONELTA
Basic Education Department – Senior High School Level
A.Y. 2018 - 2019

(Since they are my boardmates I know them since elementary that’s why it’s okay. But there is
the time that I get mad because I am the only one who clean.)

Interviewer: so what are your strategies that you used to overcome problems?

(So what are your strategies that you used to overcome problems?)

(There is a time, when I am totally stressed in school, I called my mother. When she picked up
the phone I started to cry, and there is also a time that when you heard the voice of your mother,
everything will be okay. So every time I miss them, I call them)

(So what do you think is the benefit of being a boarder in your academic?)

(In senior high you need to overtime example when you’re in grade 12 there is a research and
you need to go home late for defense, since you’re attending a boarding it is your benefit and
advantage because your boarding is near unlike the others their home is far, like in Alicia)

(So where are you from?)

Participant 3: taga roxas

(I’m from roxas)

Interviewer: layo pala, so last po what would you recommend to the future boarders?
(It’s far, so last what would you recommend to the future boarders?)

(Even now they need to be ready, I mean prepare themselves in all household chores and also in
budgeting)

Interviewer: Okay po, so here is our first question. What are the experiences that you’ve been
encounter in living in a boarding house or apartment?

(What are the experiences that you’ve been encounter in living in a boarding house or
apartment?)

(Uhmm, laundry that is the first thing that I experienced in living in a boarding house then
cooking unlike in our house I’ll just wait until the food is ready.)

Interviewer: So do you think it is hard?

(So do you think it is hard?)

Participant 4: Yes, mahirap siya sa una.

University of Perpetual Help System Laguna – JONELTA
Basic Education Department – Senior High School Level

Interviewer: Is there any struggles in living in a boarding house or apartment? What are those?

(Is there any struggles in living in a boarding house or apartment? What are those?

(Yes, like cooking. I don’t know how to cook that’s why sometimes I just buy foods outside.
Then when you woke up late then your uniform are not yet prepared.)

Interviewer: So what are the benefit of being an independent student?

(So what are the benefit of being an Independent Student?)

(The benefit that I get from this is I got the chance to build myself. And I can stand with my
own. Also for me to know the household chores.)

Interviewer: Hmmmm, so how did you handle those problems and challenges?

(Hmmmm, so how did you handle those problems and challenges?)

Participant 4: I open them with my friends, or tatawag ako kila papa.

(I open them with my friends, or I will call my father.)

Interviewer: Okay po, so what do you think is the greatest challenges that you’ve been encounter
being a student boarder?

(Okay, so what do you think is the greatest challenges that you’ve been encounter being a
student boarder?

Participant 4: Being homesick. Then money problem tapos academic problems din.

(Being homesick. Then money problem then academic problems.)

Interviewer: Nagku-kulang po ba yung pera niyo? Then sa academic po paano po yon?

(Is your money not enough? Then in your academic how was it?)
University of Perpetual Help System Laguna – JONELTA
Basic Education Department – Senior High School Level
A.Y. 2018 - 2019

(Yes, sometimes my money isn’t enough there are things that I need to pay and it is not included
in my allowance, then In my academic problem sometimes my board mates are noisy I cannot
focus well.)

Interviewer: So can you tell us what are the strategies that you have been used to overcome your
problems?

(So can you tell us what are the strategies that you have been used to overcome your problems?)

Participant 4: umu-uwi ako. Sometimes I invite my friends to come over.

(I went home, sometimes I invite my friends to come over.)

Interviewer: So last two question po, how did you adjust in such a new environment? Do you
find it hard?

(So last two question, how did you adjust in such a new environment? Do you find it hard?)

Participant 4: Yes, I find it difficult. To adjust in a new environment, you need to be

approachable and friendly.

(Yes I find it difficult. To adjust in a new environment you need to be approachable and
friendly.)

Interviewer: Okay last one po, what can you recommend to the future student boarders?

(Okay last one, what can you recommend to the future student boarders?)

Participant 4: Be prepared. Enjoy every moment and be strong.

Interviewer: taga saan ka po kuya?

(Where are you from?)

Participant 5: I’m from Angadanan Isabela

(I’m from angadanan Isabela)

Interviewer: malayo po pala, so eto po yung unang tanong, what are the experiences of student
boarders?

(It’s too far, so here is the first question. What are the experiences of student boarders?)

(It is so hard because at first I don’t know how to handle house hold chores and also I don’t
know how to budget my money in all my expenses)

Interviewer: so hindi ka pa po pala ready that time, may mga problems din po ba kayong na e
encounter sa pag bo-boarding?
University of Perpetual Help System Laguna – JONELTA
Basic Education Department – Senior High School Level
A.Y. 2018 - 2019

(So you’re not ready yet that time, is there any problems that you’ve encountered in boarding
house?)

Participant 5: meron madami.

(Yes, there’s a lot)

Interviewer: ano po yung mga yun?

(What are those?)

ganon.

(Just like what I’ve said those house hold chores and also in handling my money in all my
expenses, and there’s a time that I’m sick , my parents doesn’t there to take care of me , and
there’s a lot of time I felt my longingness because they are far.

yun?

(It’s too hard, but how did you handle those problems of yours?)

Participant 5: wala naman akong choice kailangan kong matutunan lahat and also kailanagan

(I have no choice, I need to learn everything and also o need to be strong enough in all problems,
if I miss my family I just call them , sometimes I’m with my friends)

Interviewer: so what do you think is the greatest challenge that you’ve been encountered being a
student boarder po?

(So what do you think is the greatest challenges that you’ve been encounter being a astudent
boarders?)

University of Perpetual Help System Laguna – JONELTA
Basic Education Department – Senior High School Level
A.Y. 2018 - 2019

(The greatest challenge that I encounter as a student boarder is my privacy. At my house I don’t
want to disturb at anything, unlike in our house I have my own room. Now I need to understand
too my co-boarders so we can get along together.)

Interviewer: mahirap talaga, so what are the benefits of being an independent student po?

(It’s difficult, so what are the benefit of being an independent student?)

(The benefit here is that I learned a lot. I learned how to be independent. And when it comes in
my academic requirements I can make them anytime I want. Then I got the chance to stroll at
night.)

Interviewer: What are the strategies that you have been used to overcome your problem?

Participant 5:

Interviewer: So last two question po. What are your ways to adjust in such a new environment?

(So last two question, what are your ways to adjust in such a new environment?)

Participant 5: Just be kind, friendly and approachable.

(Just be kind, friendly and approachable.)

Interviewer: Here is the last question. What can you recommend to the future boarders?

(Here is the last question. What can you recommend to the future boarders?)

Participant 5: Uhmm, Just be ready. Have fun and enjoy lang. Masaya naman eh.

(Uhmm, Just be ready. Have fun and enjoy. It is fun.)

Interviewer: So ditto na po matatpos yung interview natin. Thank you so much po sa cooperation

(No problem.)

(Good morning, can we ask for an interview?)

Participant 6: Sige

(Sure)

(Ok let us start our interview)

Interviewer: so eto po yung unang tanong, what are the experiences of student boarders?

(So here’s the first question, what are the experiences of student boarders?)

(It’s hassle because I do not have a companion in cooking my own food)

Interviewer: Ilang years napo kayo ng nagboboarding?

(How many years are you in boarding?)

Participant 6: mga mag two two years na

(Almost 2 years)

Interviewer: so may struggles po ba kayo sa pag boboarding?

(So do you have any struggles in boarding?)

University of Perpetual Help System Laguna – JONELTA
Basic Education Department – Senior High School Level
A.Y. 2018 - 2019

(Of course, the one that gives me struggle is my board mate because we are not friends and she is
not my vibes)

Interviewer: what are the benefits of being an independent student po?

(What are the benefits of being an independent student?)

Participant 6: ayun natutulungan niya ako to uhmm I manage ung sarili kong pera then become a
more responsible student and child

(It helps me to manage my own allowance and become more responsible student and child)

Interviewer: so next question po

(So next question)

Interviewer: What are the strategies that you have been used to overcome your problem?

(If I review at the same time and I cannot cook my food anymore)

Interviewer: ate how did you handle challenges po?

Participant 6: nakikisama nalang. Being friendly saka mas kinikilala sila para maka get to know
each other.

(I associate with them. Being friendly, getting to know each other)

(What is the greatest challenge you have encountered?)

(My greatest challenge is when I budget my money because sometimes i short my money
because of the sudden payments that we pay in school or in my boarding house even small cost
ofcourse it is not in my budget)

Interviewer: paano niyo nalutasan yoon?

(How did you resolved it?)

University of Perpetual Help System Laguna – JONELTA
Basic Education Department – Senior High School Level
A.Y. 2018 - 2019

(I told that problem to my parents that is why we have come with condtion.)

Interviewer: what are your ways to adjust in such a new environment?

(Our land lady is ill-tempered, so for me it is hard to adjust, but every-time we crossed paths in
the boarding house I always smiled and adjust my attitude towards her, for me to know how to
treat her

Interviewer: may rules po ba kayo sa boarding niyo?

(Do you have any rules in your boarding?)

Participant 6: meron

(Yes we have)

Interviewer: ano-ano po ung mga yun?

(What are those?)

(First it is also prohibited to bring liquors and minimize your voice to not disturb fellow
boarders)

(Uhm… I balance my time properly to finish my task faster and I obey the policies in my
boarding to avoid problem)

(What would you recommend to the future boarders?)

Participant 6: uhm balanced their time and be responsible as an independent person

(It is hard because you’re the one who will do it, I get used to it that my mother is the one who
prepare everything for me even house hold chores.)

Interviewer: ah, and what are the challenges na e-encountered mo sa pag boboarding?

(Ah, what are the challenges that you’ve encountered in boarding house?)

nakakausap at nakikita

(ahmm when I miss my family, I’m not used to it when I don’t see them or talk to them)

Interviewer: mahirap po kasi malayo e, so paano mop o namamage to overcome identified

University of Perpetual Help System Laguna – JONELTA

(Ahmm I called my parents to asked how are they because when I talked to them and I know that
they are fine, I’m fine with it, sometimes I need sacrifice even though I miss them so much)

Interviewer: and ano po what are the benefits of being an independent student?

(And what are the benefits of being an independent student?)

(I learned more cleaning alone, I learned how to budget, and to cooked unlike when im with my
mother, so that it’s better because I learned a lot in house hold chores)

Interviewer: ah okay po so how did you handle those challenges?

(Ah okay, so how did you handle those challenges?)

(I just train myself to lose the sadness that I feel, I call my friends in my boarding so that I feel
better, or I call my parents just to feel better)

Interviewer: next question po what do you think is the greatest challenges you have encountered
being a student boarder?

(Next question, what do you think is the greatest challenge you have encountered being a student
boarder?)

(When I miss them sometimes I cried because im far from them, I used to it that they are always

(they are kind, so that it is easy for me to be friendly with them. We help each other to clean)

Interviewer: ah number 3 po what are the strategies that you have used to overcome that kind of
problem? `

(When I'm sad, I always call my mom and sometimes, my friends help me and they are kind)

Interviewer: last question po ate what you recommend to the future boarders?

(They should learn to know the household chores and get used to it for them not to face
difficulty. Sometimes they need to save money and be ready)

Interviewer: Thank you po ate sa time na binigay mo

(Thank you for your time)

Interviewer: You’re welcome ading!
