PROBLEM ANALYSIS WORKSHEET
Deviation Statement: An issue about the shortage of face masks has suddenly arisen and there is a serious danger of the widespread of 2019-nCoV
(2019 Corona Virus) which started in December 2019.
POSSIBLE CAUSES Test. Ask Which facts made this possible cause improbable?
Indicate assumptions made.
1 There is a high/ excessive demand for face masks. The office of the governor has given orders to all towns’ mayor to
provide face masks to all their constituents as soon as possible.
2 Hoarding/ Artificial Shortage of face masks. The constituents of MLB-S Province are in commotion because they do
not have protective masks to use and are not available locally in drug
stores.
3 Overpopulation of the area may also cause the shortage. The different mayors of MLB-S Province are gathered to discuss an
immediate health concern.
4 The distance of the province to possible suppliers of facemasks. The constituents of MLB-S Province are in commotion because they do
not have protective masks to use and are not available locally in drug
stores.
Most Profitable Cause: The reason behind having no available face masks to be distributed to the constituents in the province is that there
were hoarding of face masks and everybody wants to be protected. Aside from that us the idea of having such an overpopulated province
causing also the unavailability of facemask among drugstores in the area.
W1
DECISION STATEMENT: To get the best supplier of facemask as a way of preventing the widespread of the virus.
