Cement Concrete Pavement: Materials, Design, Construction, Quality Control, Failures and
Maintenance
By: Prof.Dharamveer Singh

Course Code: CEP/2020-2021/O-13 Course Duration : 3 Days [16/04/2020 - 18/04/2020]

Course Details

Introduction: Recent impetus on construction of concrete pavement in India has brought mixed experience in terms of construction and
performance of pavements. Construction of cement concrete pavement requires meticulous planning, construction strategy and
resources, understanding of the subjects along with a good crew members and machinery. Unfortunately, concrete pavement does not
forgive mistakes and carelessness, and poor practice reflects immediately in form of premature cracking, rough riding quality, and failure
of pavements leading to wastage of money, manpower, and overall a bad reputation to a firm. Though many projects on construction of
cement concrete pavements are in progress in India, there are numerous examples failures and success stories. There is an urgent
requirement in terms of training of highway engineers so they understand various factors contributing to performance of cement concrete
pavements, traffic consideration, mix design and materials, construction practice, failure and reasons, and maintenance strategy to
enhance life of pavement. This three days professional course brings the opportunity for highway engineers to command on factors,
materials, distresses, maintenance, design, and quality control of cement concrete pavement.
