NCMF HYMN MAKING CONTEST

GENERAL GUIDELINE

DESCRIPTION:
In the celebration of the 10 th year Anniversary of NCMF, a making contest of the NCMF
HYMN is included to showcase the ability and creativity of NCMF employees in the field
of music composition, production, and video making.
NCMF Hymn will be the official “anthem” of the Commission. It will show “Peace and
Unity” among Muslims and Non-Muslims alike. It will reflect the culture, tradition, history
and beliefs of Muslim Filipinos. NCMF Hymn will exhibit the Commission mandate,
mission and vision. It will give a sense of identification, belongingness, comradeship,
pride and loyalty to the public service
WHO MAY JOIN:
A. All NCMF Employees on a permanent or job order basis;
OBJECTIVES:
A. Showcase the ability and creativity of NCMF Employees in the field of music
composition, production, and video making.
B. Instills the value of originality, ingenuity, and artistry towards music composition,
production, interpretation, and video making.
C. An Official NCMF Hymn will be adopted.
MECHANICS:
1. Each NCMF Regional Office must have only one (1) entry of an original song
composition.
2. The minimum time for the song is three (2) minutes while the maximum time is four
(4) minutes; this already includes the intro and the extro.
3. The overriding theme for the competition is “PEACE AND UNITY”.
4. The lyrics and melody of the song should be original.
5. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Plagiarism in any kind will result to disqualification.
6. The lyrics of the song entry must be in either Filipino or English;
7. Songs with double meanings e.i negative thoughts, aggressiveness, etc. are not
allowed. There must be clarity on the message of the song.
8. The entries must be submitted on or before _________________________ via

9. The song entry must be in an audio CD or USB if submitted through courier or
personal delivery. An entry must be placed in a brown envelope bearing the name(s),
address(es), and contact number(s) of the composer(s). The CD or USB must be
labelled with the song title and composer(s)’s name(s). The entry must also enclose two
(2) copies of lyrics sheets.

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING


Originality : 40%
Creativity (relevance to the theme): 20%
Musicality : 20%
Presentation : 10%
Overall Impact : 10%
TOTAL 100%

SCREENING OF ENTRIES
1. A screening Committee shall audition all entries from the participant

2. The decision of the Screening Committee is final and binding on all parties
concerned.

3. The finalist songs, and the names of their respective composers will be
announced on ___________________. The winner must present their
composition on ________________ at

4. Copyright for the winning hymn will be retained by the author, but he/she agrees
to permit the use of this hymn by NCMF in perpetuity.
