2.1. Dehydration and Hydrocarbon Dew Point Control
Sweetened residue gas from the Amine unit is sent to the Hydrocarbon Dew Point Control
(HDPC) Unit, where the gas is simultaneously dehydrated, and hydrocarbon dewpoint
temperature is reduced.
The feed gas is split into two parallel streams, where it is pre-cooled in a Gas/Gas
Exchanger and Gas/Liquid Exchanger with cold dry gas and cold separator liquid from Low
Temperature Separator (LTS). The precooled gas and liquid are recombined and flows
through the Chiller, which further cools the gas with propane refrigerant from the
Mechanical Refrigeration Unit (MRU). The MRU will be equipped with 3 X 50% screw
compressor units.
Ethylene glycol (EG) is injected upstream of the Gas/Gas Exchanger, Gas/Liquid Exchanger
and Chiller to prevent hydrate formation and suppress the water dewpoint.
The cooled stream from the Chiller flows into the LTS to separate the three phases: lean dry
gas, hydrocarbon condensate, and rich glycol. The LTS overhead stream, cold lean gas, is
warmed in the Gas/Gas Exchanger and flows to Export Gas Compressors. The LTS
hydrocarbon condensate liquid stream is warmed in the Gas/Liquid Exchanger.
The rich glycol phase from upstream of the weir in the LTS flows to the EG regeneration
system where the absorbed water is driven off in the Glycol Regenerator, and lean glycol is
pumped and injected onto the inlet tube sheet of the three heat exchangers. The Glycol
Regenerator overhead stream which mainly consists of mainly 99.7% water vapor/glycol is
routed to LP Flare. This stream also consists of hydrocarbon gases (upto 0.3%).

4.1.1. Condensate Flash

Condensate from Gas/Liquid Exchanger is first heated in Condensate Heater by Hot Oil in
order to recover the gas from condensate stream. The heated condensate stream is flashed in
the Hot Condensate Separator and the residual liquids are cooled with ambient air in the
Condensate Air Cooler. The flashed gas from the Hot condensate separator is mixed with
the Export gas to the extent of gas within the specified Dew Point specifications.
The cooled stream pressure is then reduced to just above fuel gas header pressure, and the
stream is flashed in the Condensate Flash Drum. The condensate product stream is sent to
the Peshkabir Oil Plant.

4.1.2. Fuel Gas

Flashed gas from the Condensate Flash Drum provides a “rich fuel gas” source suitable for
fired heaters (Hot Oil Heater). The remainder is mixed with lighter make-up fuel gas from
the export gas stream, to provide a mixed “Lean Fuel Gas” for the rotating equipment
engines. Separate fuel gas scrubbers are provided for the rich and mixed lean fuel.

1.1. Export Gas Compression

The sweet mixed gas from the HDPC Unit flows to the Export Gas Compressor which
compresses the gas to export gas pipeline pressure. The gas then normally flows to the
Tawke Injection Facility through the export pipeline. Export Gas Compression comprises
three engine-driven, single-stage compressor units of 10 MMSCFD design capacity each.

1.2.1. HP Gas Compression

HP Gas Compressors at Peshkabir are provided for gas injection at the Peshkabir field.
Provisions are made for a side stream of up to 20 MMSCFD export gas from the Export gas
Compression discharge to be directed to the Peshkabir HP Gas Compression.
Peshkabir HP Compressors boosts the pressure up to a high enough, approximately 180
barg, to enable injection into the Peshkabir reservoir.
The Peshkabir HP Gas Compression comprises a 2 x 10 MMscfd configuration, and are 2-
stage compression units. A coalescing filter will be installed at the compressor discharge to
capture lube oil carryover from compressor package.
