The research will be utilizing descriptive research design.

Specifically, it will use the

survey method. According to Nageswara Rao Posinasetti (2014), a descriptive study is one in

which information is collected without changing the environment like nothing is manipulated. It

is used to obtain information concerning the current status of the phenomena to describe "what

exists" with respect to variables or conditions in a situation. In this study, 120 respondents will

be survey in order to find out the effects of quota grade and qualifying exam in Accountancy

course for the BSA students. The respondents were chosen from BSA students in Meycauayan

College - College Department. Specifically, 79 BSA students from 1st year, 25 BSA students

from 2nd year, 4 BSA students from 3rd year and 12 BSA students from 4th year. The

respondents were chosen purposively.

The data will be gathered through questionnaires/surveys. Based on the book entitled

“Practical Research 2: Qualitative Research”, p. 91 written by Paul Micah S. Francisco, Virlyn J.

Francisco, Aisah P. Arlos (2016), a questionnaires can be useful in collecting data on simple and well-

defined issues. The design of the questionnaire should provide the required data, data that can be analyzed

and used, and unbiased response. The questionnaire used in this study was self-constructed by the

researchers. It will be validated and will be checked by the professor.

The researchers will gather relevant data through the following procedure: First,

the researchers will study the variables of the research topic entitled “The Effects of Quota Grade

in Accountancy Course as Perceived by the BSA Students". The variables are the students’

perceptions and retention policy in Accountancy course. The researchers will be focusing on the

variables while researching the relevant data needed through the internet, to know if the gathered

data is useful to its research study. Then, the researchers will formulate the instrument related

with its statement of the problem. It serves as a basis to conduct survey questionnaire.
Afterwards, the researchers will construct a letter of permission about administering the survey.

It should be validated by the adviser to give support and approval to the following effects

towards the retention policy in accountancy course based on the research studies. As for the

process of gathering the data's needed for this study, the researchers have to browse on the

internet and books. There are so many websites that the researchers have been through to find the

exact and reliable information that will help them with their study. But the research is not only

limited to websites that they had scanned but also other research studies and some books to

support the variables of their study.

To analyze the data that will be gathered, the researchers’ survey questionnaires will be

counted and summarized. The data gathered will be interpreted using the statistical tools in

accordance with the specific problem.
