In order to evaluate the quality of light sources objec�vely, the interna�onally
recognised colour rendering index a (English C I) was defined.
The test light source is compared with a reference light source using 15 selected test colours.
The evalua�on bandwidth is between a maximum of plus 100 and minus 60. The more
accurately the test light source reproduces the test colour, the higher or be�er the colour
rendering value.

The mean value of the first 8 test colours gives the colour rendering index a.
The average a value is divided into: moderately good colour rendering for a
70-80, e.g. for street ligh�ng; good colour rendering for a 80-90, e.g. for ligh�ng work
places, and very good colour rendering for a 90-100, e.g. for museums and high-quality
retail applica�ons.
In order to further specify the quality of the colour rendering, a typical avalue of a
(type) 85, for example, within a bandwidth of a ≥ 80 to 90, can also be specified.

ours and gives products a more vivid appearance.

LUMINOUS FLUX Luminous flux, with the unit of one lumen, denotes the total light emission of a luminaire.
The informa�on on the luminous flux in this catalogue is subject to a tolerance of +/- 10 %.
POWER CONSUMPTION The power consump�on of a luminaire in wa�s is the en�re current consump�on including
any necessary ballast. The values in this catalogue are rated values, which may be exceeded
by a maximum of 10 % in individual cases.
COLOUR TEMPERATURE Colour temperature, with the unit of one Kelvin (K), describes the appearance given by
a light source. The specifica�ons in this catalogue are subject to a tolerance of +/- 150 K.
lm (lumen) The lumen is the unit of luminous flux. Luminous flux describes the light energy in
the visible band radiated from a light source in all direc�ons.
lx (lux) The lux is the unit of light intensity. It describes the total luminous flux incident on
a given surface. Lux is equal to Lumen per m² (lx=lm/m²).
cd (candela) Candela is the unit of luminous intensity. The luminous intensity describes the luminous
flux per illuminated solid angle.
LGP (Light Guiding Prism) Light-guiding structures in light-guiding, transparent material that ensure the desired
distribu�on of light when light is introduced from the side.

IK .. IK type protec�on is a measure of the resistance of electrical equipment housings to mechanical
