Maha Mahgoub - MBA - Cairo University
INTRODUCTION

The aims of Career Self Assessment tests are to:

Help you discover your career interests,

 Help you identify employment opportunities,
Get you as close to your dream job as
possible.

Maha Mahgoub - MBA - Cairo University

Career Self Assessment tests

Maha Mahgoub - MBA - Cairo University

Step 1

• Research & Decide:

Go to your local library and/or online and

review career tests before deciding which
self-assessment suits you.

Maha Mahgoub - MBA - Cairo University

Step 2
• Determine your goals in taking a
career assessment test.
• Your goals are different if you're a first
time job seeker vs. an adult seeking
that dream job.

Maha Mahgoub - MBA - Cairo University

Step 3
• Identify goals

Choose the career assessment that's

right for you. There are varieties and
not all will suit your style or your goals.

Maha Mahgoub - MBA - Cairo University

Step 4

• Take the test alone without the aid or

advice of others
• If you're taking the test online, at
home, choose a quiet place to avoid
interruptions.
Maha Mahgoub - MBA - Cairo University
Step 5
• Understand the test

 Read the instructions

thoroughly to understand its
meaning.
 If you don't read the
instructions, your answer
may likely come out
distorted.
Maha Mahgoub - MBA - Cairo University
Step 6
• Answer all questions truthfully; honest
answers means that you'll receive an
accurate report that generates more jobs for
you to consider.
• You will discover many different types of jobs
for which you're suited.
• For instance, an accountant may discover
that she's an ideal candidate to work in
advertising, web design, or commercial art.

Maha Mahgoub - MBA - Cairo University

Step 7
• Relax

 Keep a positive attitude when

taking the test.
 Enjoy taking the career
assessment, because it will help
create an effective job search
campaign.

Maha Mahgoub - MBA - Cairo University

Stop 8
• Don't agonize
 Answer questions quickly and
without sacrificing honesty;
whether fresh from college or
on your second career
the assessment test is a tool
to help you find a better job or
your dream job.
Maha Mahgoub - MBA - Cairo University
Step 9
• Don't look for the "right answer" or the
one that you think someone might
give. Write your own answer.

Maha Mahgoub - MBA - Cairo University

Step 10
• Trust your first answer

 Don't erase your answers;

once you've written an
answer keep it.
 Quick answers often
originate from the
subconscious, without the
aid of your sensor.
