Conditional Tenses
If I were a boy
"If I Were A Boy" I think I could understand
If I were a boy How it feels to love a girl
Even just for a day I swear I’d be a better man.
I’d roll outta bed in the morning I’d listen to her
And throw on what I wanted and go 'Cause I know how it hurts
Drink beer with the guys When you lose the one you wanted
And chase after girls (wanted)
I’d kick it with who I wanted 'Cause he’s taken you for granted
And I’d never get confronted for it. (granted)
'Cause they’d stick up for me. And everything you had got destroyed
If I were a boy It’s a little too late for you to come back
I think I could understand Say it's just a mistake
How it feels to love a girl Think I’d forgive you like that
I swear I’d be a better man. If you thought I would wait for you
I’d listen to her You thought wrong
'Cause I know how it hurts
When you lose the one you wanted But you’re just a boy
'Cause he’s taken you for granted You don’t understand
And everything you had got destroyed Yeah, you don’t understand, oh
How it feels to love a girl someday
If I were a boy You wish you were a better man
I would turn off my phone You don’t listen to her
Tell everyone it’s broken You don’t care how it hurts
So they’d think that I was sleepin’ alone Until you lose the one you wanted
I’d put myself first 'Cause you’ve taken her for granted
And make the rules as I go And everything you had got destroyed
'Cause I know that she’d be faithful
Waitin’ for me to come home (to come home) But you’re just a boy
