“Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi” Review

Welcome to today’s review, I’m here to talk about manga I know so you can laugh, rant, or
simply enjoy what I have here to say. This time I will be reviewing “Kaifuku Jutsushi no
Yarinaoshi”.

This manga is an adaptation of a Web novel about a poor villager who is recruited as a
healer in the Hero party. This guy is revealed to be the “Healing Hero”. The problem is that
him not being able to fight is enough reason for the royal family to drug him and exploit him.
After some time, Kearu (our main guy) recovers his conscience and uses a magic object to
return in time to get revenge.

This manga continues with the isekai/fantasy archetype of an overpowered main protagonist,
with the twist of him being a healer capable of imagining someone dead as being healthy,
ultimately being a one hit killer. This is not necessarily a bad thing on many manga, but here
it is.

*Story:
The plot of this manga is about revenge and abuse, it’s not a comedy or a slice of life story,
this is only action fantasy. The problem with the story is the lack of growth from the main
character, as we only see him being OP all the time. It also has a lot of holes that can’t be
forgotten that easily.
This manga has a lot of sexual content featuring several rape scenes, wouldn’t recommend
it to someone who gets triggered (in the clinical way) by this. People who like that kind of
stuff as a way to add realism to the story won’t be happy either, as many of those
encounters fell forced and unnecessary. Personally I like this even with those defects, but
being objective about it the story lacks coherence and it’s generally bad.

*Art:
As it is a web novel adaptation, the art of this manga is not really standing out. It’s very
generic and unimpressive, but it’s not bad. The action scenes are ok, the sex scenes are
normal, and the whole backgrounds are good enough for an adaptation.

*Timing:
If you are reading this manga, you’re reading it for the sex scenes with a splash of action. In
that sense, this manga has a pretty good timing. The arcs are being developed at a normal
pace, even compared to the web novel, the flow of the story doesn’t feel forced (at least not
rushed or slow).

*Characters:
I really like the motivation of Kearu, he really suffered a lot and has that moral high ground to
be called a hero of justice, and his choice of not being a hero of justice is very good in a
sense that he is not a goody two-shoes. Apart from that, the heroines are pretty bland, none
of them has a distinctive personality to speak of nor a motivation other than being Kearu’s
sex slave. There’s also no good villain on this story.
*Character design:
As the trend goes, Kearu doesn’t have a design to stand out as a protagonist. From the
other girls, only a couple of them have a non-generic design. There’s nothing to say about
other than the loli wolf is fine.

With this I finish my rant about this manga. I really like it, but as a guilty pleasure. It really is
bad, but a little better than the web novel, that thing is even more confusing and stupidly
written.
