ABSTRACT
ECA is defined in dictionaries as educational activities that fall outside the scope
of the regular school curriculum (Merriam-Webster, 2010). The main objective of this
study is to obtain relevant and reliable information about the effects of extracurricular
activities to the student's lifestyle, specifically the selected G10 students of Benjamin B
Esguerra Memorial National High School as the respondents. The researchers found out
that female Students of Benjamin B Esguerra Memorial National High School are more
active to join the said activities with a percentage of (68%) while the male students got
the lowest frequency of 88 with a percentage of (32%) The researcher made use of a
survey questionnaire as the primary data collection instrument in the study. The said
physical, social, emotional and mental aspects of the student's lifestyle both positive and
negative effects. In the positive effect the highest weighted mean was got by the
emotional aspect with a general weighted average (GWA) of (4.30) with verbal
interpretation of agree. While the highest general weighted average (GWA) of the
negative effect was got by the physical aspect with (3.53) using the pearson’s r the
researchers found out that there is no relationship between the first variable the effects of
extracurricular activities and our dependent variable the lifestyle of the students. By the
data collected and interpreted, we came to the conclusion that the implementation of the
Department of Education and the school of the said activities has no relationship with the
