MODULE 9 EXERCISE 1.1

Find:
1. P (z ≥ 1.25)
z-score: +1.25
z-value: 0.894535
z (right-sided area) = 1-0.894535= 0.105465
2. P (z ≤ -2.3)
z-score: -2.3
z-value = 0.01072
3. P (-1.5 ≤ z ≤ 0.9)
z-score: +0.9
z-value: 0.81594
z-score: -1.5
z-value: 0.06681

z-interval= (0.81594 – 0.06681) = 0.74913

4. the value of k such that P (z ≥ k) = 0.96
From the z-table, the z-score of 0.96 is +1.76
5. the value of k such that P (-k ≤ z ≤ k) = 0.88
P (k < Z) =0.94
P (k > Z) =0.06

From the z-table, the z-score of 0.94 is +1.55 and 0.06 is -1.55.
