Dear MITCAA,

Greetings! My name is Zhane Ann M. Tizon, a 3rd-year student in the program of

Chemical Engineering at Mapua University. I am 22 years of age and live in San Pablo City,
Laguna. I am the eldest child and have two younger brothers, who are also currently studying.
Primarily, I am applying for this scholarship due to the fact that this pandemic damaged most of
the jobs of Filipino citizens. My mother has been one of the victims of this current crisis for over
a year now. Therefore, in the following paragraphs, I will share the reasons why I deserve this
scholarship.
At this current time, my family is struggling with financial problems. My mother has
been a single parent since my father died last 2019. Her salary is not enough to fully pay my
tuition fee. But she is a very hardworking mother that wanted us, her children, to accomplish our
dreams by graduating from prestigious schools. Truthfully, I was enrolled these past terms
because Mapua University allowed me to submit a promissory note even if I have a huge amount
of back account and with the help of MAAEUSA. However, MAAEUSA ran out of funds and
can no longer support me. I am very determined to finish my college studies since I want to give
back something to society. I can assure you that I am one of the brilliant students and have
always executed excellent grades. Currently, some of my side projects that I am joining are the
2022 AICEE (ASEAN International Conference for Energy and Environment) and 2022 ISCES
(International Student Conference in Environment and Sustainability) that the United Nations
Environment Programme and Tongji University, Shanghai will hold on June 2-5. I am doing a
feasibility analysis on nuclear power within the Philippines, and it will be published in 2022
AICEE. Also, I am the leader of my team, which will participate in the 2022 ISCES for a
proposal project about global solutions and sustainability. My goal here is to combat climate
change by innovating alternatives to save the environment and future generations. Furthermore, I
do not have any failing grades or IP on my report card since my first year. Thus, I am very
focused on my goals and studies and would give my best not to let you down when I am
accepted into this scholarship.
In the view thereof, I am very pleased to submit documents for this scholarship because it
gave me hope that I could pursue my studies despite the financial crisis my family is going
through. This scholarship would help me, so I hope you consider me as one of your scholars. I
have nothing more to prove to you but my good grades and kind heart. I hope you will grant me
this scholarship, and I will assure you that I am one of the best students in class.

Best Regards,
ZHANE ANN M. TIZON
