Greetings of Peace and Excellence!

The students of the University of the East continuously struggle with the financial and economic
impact brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. The impact of this event escalated by the university
policies that multiplied the additional burden on the student. Many of us lost our scholarships
without proper and prior notice by the school administration and in the upcoming academic year,
we are fighting the emerging 9.5% tuition fee increase to be imposed by the administration.
Hence, in order to help mitigate the weight carried by each and one of us, we are launching a
student-driven initiative for our fellow Mandirigma. As leaders and advocates for equitable and
attainable good quality education, we are firmly committed to fighting for our fellow students'
rights as we have heard their stories of perseverance and persistence.

Our initiative aims to support and help students who were robbed of the promise of affordable
yet quality education. With this regard, we humbly seek from your good office any monetary
assistance or in-kind back-to-school supplies that could be useful for our fellow students. Rest
assured that the collection of resources will solely be for the project alone.

We shall uphold the students’ right to education which should never be stripped off of them.
Every one of us aspires and aims big, these massive institutions should never hinder our dreams
from becoming our reality. Your help creates a substantial impact on the lives and educational
journey of these students. Despite the darkness, we hope to provide light and inspire alliance
among each of us.
