“Literacy for a human-centered recovery: Narrowing the digital divide”

A thousand LEARNERS will benefit from only one word – BESPREN.

In this pandemic, it is difficult for us to use the internet and social media platforms as a medium
of learning. We need a quick and consistent connection to cope with the long-distance learning
prepared by our professors and lecturers. To learn well during the epidemic, we need high-
quality gadgets that will allow us to purchase the software required for our courses.

As a result of this approach, students suffer. Being physically separated from our friends
and classmates produces a depressing learning atmosphere. Due to lockdowns, lessons that
required laboratories were not fully covered. Our eyes are overexposed to electronics, which
adds to the load of learning. Weekends and weekdays become the same, we become less healthy
in both physical and mental health, and we, of course, learn less.

Both intellectually and financially, the New Normal Learning Mode is demanding. Learning in
this method is significantly more stressful than usual, and even though we are staying inside our
homes, financial cost is still rising. Fortunately, our beloved LGU of Santiago makes an effort to
support students like me who are facing financial difficulties. BESPREN has a scholarship
program that will offer us with a stipend to assist us with our studies.

I adore the LGU program of our local government in financially helping its student. This
scholarship will surely help lessen the burden carried by the students in working on their
academics. I anticipate that other LGUs as well as NGOs will be able to adapt the program of our
city to approach a larger population of students.

I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this scholarship. I thank you from the bottom of
my heart, and I promise to repay your kindness by studying harder and giving my best until I
graduate and pass the board exam. This scholarship inspires me to help future students as soon as
possible, especially those who are in severe need of money and support for their education.

BESPREN's financial support assured every one of us that no one would be left behind.
A fantastic program with lofty goals that will allow thousands of students to accomplish their
desires. We shall be grateful to have been a part of this; it's as if you've transformed into our ears,
ready to hear our screams and heal our sorrows.

As a future civil engineer, I pledge to contribute to take part in the future in building and
developing our city as well as extending my help to other students who also struggle in meeting
the financial demands in acquiring quality education. I believe that no one should be left behind,
and we need to work together, extend our hands in breaking the stigma. We can address this
epidemic along with thousands of future successful students, Si Bespren at Ako.
