Interactive Language Activity (Proposal)

1.0. Introduction

Our team of 6 has planned to carry out an interactive language activity. This enrichment activity
will be carried out for four hour session. The total numbers of students that will be taking part
are 40 pupils. We the trainee teachers have planned and discussed with our mentor teacher
assigned to ours on the types and feasibility of the activities.

The team finally has decided on a few language games and two action songs as Interactive
Language Activity (ILA).

2.0. Aims and Objectives

Our team member compromise of 6 member. They are as stated as below.

4.0. Proposed Venue, Date and Time

i.)Proposed Venue : Classroom (Sek Keb Brickfields 2)

ii.)Date : 6th August and 11th August 2009

iii.)Time : During lesson and relieve class.

5.0. Target Group

Target Group : Level 1 and 2


6.0. Programme

Week 1 (2 hour session)

Class: 5 Wawasan and 5 Bestari

Activities

1. Hangman

• Get the students to guest the right words win the game. The trainee
teachers divided the students into group of six. The group guessed the
right word will get one point. At the end of the game, the group
collected the most mark wins the game.

2. Bingo Words

• The students list down all the word based on initial letter given by the
trainee teachers. The group that listed the most, correct spelling and fastest
in completing the task wins the game.

3. Teapot

• Action song.

• The lyric of the song was written on the board by the trainee teachers. The
trainee teachers will show the action of the song. The students learned to
sing and performed the action song. The students will take turn to perform
in front of the class in group.

Week 2 (2 hour session)

Class: 1 Bestari and 2 Bestari

Activities

1. Action songs
• Two action songs were taught to the students to prepare them for closure of
the English Week. The two songs were Teapot and Making Melody in My
Heart. The trainee teachers printed out the songs lyrics and distributed to each
students. The students learned to sing the songs. The trainee teachers will
guide the students to sing the song and the movement of the songs. The
students need to memorize the lyrics and the actions of the songs. The
students practiced a few times to familiarize with the songs.
