using a wave winding.
g. Draw typical torque–slip characteristics of 3-ø induction motor.

UNIT-II

4. a. When a sinusoidal voltage of 230V rms is applied to a series RL


circuit, it is found that there occurs a power dissipation of 2300 W
and a current flow given by i(t)=28.28 sin(314t-θ). Find 7M
i) the circuit resistance in ohms
ii) the circuit inductance in henry

b. A steel, magnetic circuit has a uniform cross-sectional area of


4cm2 and a length of 30 cm. A coil of 150 turns is wound uniformly

over the magnetic circuit. When the current in the coil is 1.5 A, b. A 4-pole,3-ø induction motor operates from a supply whose
