Because of the high level of pollution, the government has advanced the implementation

of higher emissions.Additionally, vehicles with a life of over 15 years will be banned off the
roads. This regulation gets a strong rejection from the community and almost all of them doesnt
thought that it the right thing to do. Because first, we know buying a new vehicle is too
expensive.People who only have 1 vehicle at home will have none if it was taken.The people
prefer to buy a second-hand vehicle to get a cheap price and the function.If the government
banned the old vehicles it will make people difficult to have their own or dream vehicle. Another
reason is pollution not only comes from the old vehicle, but pollution also can come from the
new vehicle. Moreover, a lot of people has a vehicle with more than 10 years but still have good
function and emission. Here we can conclude that if an old vehicle banned, it will make a lot of
negative impact and not give any solution to the pollution effect.

I have analyzed Astena’s opinion paragraph entitled “Old Vehicle Should be Banned “Here are
the results of the paragraph analysis :

The paragraph structure is complete which consist of topic sentence , supporting sentence, and
concluding sentence.

Topic sentence : The topic sentence of this paragraph is about old vehicle shouldn’t be
banned. however the writer didnt mention it on the first paragraph. Instead, the writer mention it
in the supporting sentences.

Supporting sentence :

 Supporting sentence developed using both opinion and fact . For example on the forth
sentence about “buying a new vehicle is too expensive” which is opinion of the writter
since another person might not have the same thought.other opinion is on (3,6,7)
 There are also several fact in the paragraph which is on second sentence “vehicles with a
life of over 15 years will be banned off the roads” the writter mention the exact year on
the sentence. Other fact is on (1,5,8,9)sentence
 The writer also used transition word such as “additionally”on the second sentence and
“moreover” in ninth sentence etc.

Concluding sentence : The writer used giving opinion using “modal auxiliaries” that old vehicle
shouldn’t be banned.
