Ang Paglaladlad

“Ikaw , ano’ng kwento mo ?

This story tells a mother who lived in a town of Southern Katagalugan with her 3

daughters which has a different perspective of life. A first child shows darken side personality. A

2nd daughter shows being a materialistic but selfish while the younger daughter wants to play

with her flying doll. A mother was a famous dressmaker in her town. She loved to tell stories that

make her customer to patronize her product. But suddenly, a mother is in a critical condition, her

last wish to her three daughters to tell a stories each one of them. The oldest daughter was first to

tell her imaginative stories which is about a girl who being cursed by a devil of everlasting life to

save her mother. The 2nd daughter start to tell her story, she is a famous businesswoman who has

a darker secret, but in the end, she was become a mermaid because of her selfishness and greed

to all material things. The last daughter narrates her story about a princess who fall in love in a

prince that her parents, disapprove of the wedding because the family of her prince was there

rival in their kingdom. But in the end, the last gift offer was peace and love still wins, the two

rival families were good together for the peace of everyone. The mother was died. The oldest

daughter owns her tailoring business.

Everyone of has a dream, but the reality is reality. Reality is an open-ended subject and

experienced in different forms and ways for different people. Reality is a gray area. Some people

may truly hear spirits, talk to them or see them. Thomas in the Bible wouldn’t believe that Jesus

appeared before the disciples unless he saw with his own eyes. There are a lot of doubting

Thomas’s out there — I hope I am not one of them. There is one reality I believe is true: that
God is love and he loves me unconditionally. Brian Tracy said, “Whatever you believe with

feeling becomes your reality.”

Each of us has a story, like Joker, and Harley Quin, they are famous villain in the movie

of Batman. Before they become bad, both of them experience bad fate of life, means every

antagonist it has a darker secret. Every moment happens in our lives, that has a reason. Maybe

God gives us challenges to be explore ourselves more. Like the story of Paglaladlad, the

instrument to tell a story is using a thread and cloth. Thread symbolizes connection and cloth

means reflections as a person. Make your own path and destiny.

As a study of Philippine History, the story of Paglaladlad relate how Filipino lives in a

simple life in a Barrio. Filipino are contented even they experience struggles in life. They are still

believing in the faith of God start from the influence of Spanish Government. It really shows

How Filipino still believing in “word saying” or mga “kasabihan ng matatanda”. Based from the

story, some of us, still accepting good or bad fate from fortune teller. It can really show the

influence of using silk cloth that begins where the Chinese people start a barter system to the

Philippines. In summary. Every aspect of our life, the influence of Western and European people

places a big role

I can relate this story for everyone especially Filipino families, which is known for

being family oriented. It shows the loved of a mother for her daughters. They sacrifice every

seconds of their life to sustain the needs. Even a mother self-support for their three daughters. It

can stand by her own feet. It shows the reflection of reality which everyone has a purpose. All of

us has a different perspective in life. Unlike the three daughters they choose to be true to herself.

Unlike I said the first paragraph. The oldest reflection of dark personality and wrapped to

darkness. Her story was full of sadness and grieve while the 2nd daughter tells being a person
show in a materialistic thing. The younger daughter tells her early age; she wants to be fly it

means. Her dreams for her family like her flying doll. She wants to express herself freely like a

bird and fly anywhere.

As live in a technology era. Teenager now become a fan of stuff like posting Facebook,

on-the-spot boyfriend/girlfriend or friend. We based our everyday life in a trend issues.

Teenagers still not contented and become adventurous. They explore the world by live freely and

not appreciate the sacrifice of the family. In other words, “easy go lucky”. Even the people

experience hatred come from the society that result suicidal thoughts and depressions. They

don’t even care the result of their action. As a student. I appreciate the whole things that God

given to me. Even experience hardship but I totally thankful for those people who still believing

and support for me. I still fight for my dreams to be successful someday. This is my story begins.

El Presidente

This movie “El Presidente” tells the real life experience of Emilio Aguinaldo Y Famy as

a first revolution president in the Phil. He is the first and youngest president of the Philippines,

was born in Cavite Viejo now as Kawit in the province of Cavite. In early age, His vision was for

the aim freedom of the Philippines from the Spanish Regime in over 300 yrs. ago. The story

inspired by his own story title as “Memories of Revolution” it becomes the primary sources of

studying Philippine History. The story starts from the two men walking around for collecting

taxes in a grand woman. But the grand woman has no enough money to pay taxes. Emilio

Aguinaldo start to become generous for the exchange of kind, Grand woman tells the future of

Emilio Aguinaldo by giving a little necklace to him. By this wisdom, it starts to inspire and

dream to himself. Emilio Aguinaldo start to become a member of KKK (Kataas taasang

Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan) as Miong with Andres Bonifacio as Supremo , This two

leaders separate himself in two parties, Magdiwang and Magdalo. Magdiwang for Andres and

Magdalo for Emilio Aguinaldo. The members agreed in Kumbensyon sa Tejeros to have one

revolution parties by having a vote. Emilio Aguinaldo declare as a President of Revolution.

Andres Bonifacio’s positions as a Director of Interior. But in the sudden, Daniel Tirona objects

the winning result of Andres Bonifacio as Director of Interior because lack of education and

knowledge about law. This scenario starts a war between Andres and Emilio Aguinaldo. Andres

try to build his own revolutionary group. But his plan was not succeeding. He convicted as

“sedisterya and death. Andres Bonifacio and his brother Procopio died on May 10,1897 in

Bundok Tala in Marigondon Cavite.

During that period, Emilio Aguinaldo start a revolution with Spanish. soldiers. Cavite

start as a free country from Spanish regime. His childhood friend was died on war between

Spanish. Emilio Aguinaldo has clear vision of freedom for the country of Philippines. Spanish

offer a proposal for the Filipinos and paid 50,00 pesos for the peace talk of Phil and Spain.

Emilio Aguinaldo start to build his own republic of the Philippines. His start to contact Felipe

Agoncillio to compose a national anthem and Marcela Agoncillio and Herbosa Natividad to start

design of Philippine Flag in 535 Morrison Hill Hongkong City, In July 12, 1898 start to declare

the independencia of Philippines in Cavite Viejo with Ambrosio Rianzares Ramusio Bautista. As

the Malolos Congress convenes, The Philippine–American War breaks out in February 1899 and

Antonio Luna is appointed commander of all Filipino forces. Many Filipino soldier, experience

starvation in walking through to hideout in Tirad Pass. Gregorio Del Pilar show his loyalty and

braveness by taking the obligation to fight the American Soldier. By this incidence, He has been

made to accept the American occupation over the Philippines, Emilio Aguinaldo lives in his

peaceful life with his wife Hilaria. Hilaria died on 1921, by the second time, Emilio Aguinaldo

falling in love with Maria the niece of Felipe Agoncillio in 1930. Until the Japanese occupation

came in the Phil. Emilio Aguinaldo witness the unfold history of the Phil. Until the Pres.

Diosdado Macapagal restore the original date of independence to July 04, from July 12, 1898.

Emilio Aguinaldo passed away by having a heart attack.

Every story, I heard in movie, teledrama or historical channel. Emilio Aguinaldo portrait

as one of the traitor Filipino general on the Spanish Period. But after I watch movie El

Presidente. The real traitor is the people around him. Emilio Aguinaldo was used in this movie,

like accusing killing to Gen. Antonio Luna by sending a telegrams but in the end. It’s is a set up

for Gen. Antonio Luna. This movie shows. It’s not about the fight between Spanish Regime to
the Philippines. But I want to point out, the best enemy is the fellow Filipino people. In each

character has shown same reason to fight for, that is the Philippine Freedom from the Western

and European Countries.

As a study of Philippine History. El Presidente used as a primary resource to study the

Philippine Revolution during Spanish Regime to Japanese Occupation. Student still used this

movie as a best portrayal scenes or best example to show the sacrifice of Filipino heroes to aim

the Philippine Freedom. The raising of the Filipino flag in Kawit on June 12, 1898, the role the

Americans played and how their supposed disinterest in creating an Asian presence flew out the

window, the life of Aguinaldo during the American colonial period and his life watching from

the sidelines up to his death in 1964 — these all make for the enlightening coda to the film

El Presidente signified the story of Filipino people as the inspiration to shows. Every one

of us make own way to help other people and for our country. Maybe start to make changes in

ourselves before the other make a changes too. Cooperation is a positive social motive. It is

equally significant as competition in motivating a person to reach the goal. Cooperation along

with competition provides a very healthy signal for the upliftment of the Society. Like in the

movie. Filipino cooperate to aim the freedom from the Spaniards Cooperation is important

because it allows people and groups to work together to achieve a common goal or derive mutual

benefits. ... Cooperation allows participants to exchange valuable information that helps both

sides improve their knowledge bases and work in a time- and resource-efficient manner. Even

many people died and experience brutally the freedom is still experience until now. The question

is “We are still free or not”? Freedom refers to a state of independence where you can do what

you like without any restriction by anyone. Moreover, freedom can be called a state of mind
where you have the right and freedom of doing what you can think off. Also, you can feel

freedom from within.

As a millennial, some of teenager doesn’t appreciate the value of the history. During

history class, few of my classmate preferred talking to their seatmate rather than listening. Start

of teaching history is from grade 3 until college years. Some of information from the past is

consistent and nothing change. I currently ask a child who is on grade 6. I ask "who is the father

of Katipunan? She answered" Jose Rizal". The correct answer is Andres Bonifacio. by that

questions. I see the quality of education in teaching history has a problem either the way of

teaching or the improper disseminating information to children. By the help of media, the books

can transfer as a movie or a tele drama so the children will become entertain and knowledgeable.

El Presidente help us to understand more about the life of Emilio Aguinaldo during the first

revolution happen in Spanish Period. by that movie can get a inspiration that every one of us can

be a hero in our little way.

After I finished my study as financial management. I will continue my dream as a history

teacher. In a help of god. The impossible will. Become possible. I wish someday, that History

subject can be more appreciated by a lot of people especially Filipino People. To know what is

the real Filipino spirit.
