Subject: Junior Engineers (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Quantity Surveying &
Contract) Examination, 2018 – Declaration of result of Paper-I for short-
listing candidates for appearing in Paper-II (Descriptive Paper).

Junior Engineers (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Quantity Surveying & Contract)
Examination, 2018 (Paper-I) was conducted by the Commission from 23.09.2019 to
27.09.2019 in various centres all over the country. A total number of 3,77,133 candidates
appeared in this Examination.

2. As the Paper-I Computer Based Examination of Junior Engineers (Civil, Mechanical,


Electrical and Quantity Surveying & Contract), 2018 was conducted in multiple shifts,
marks scored by the candidates have been normalized as per the formula published by the
Commission on its website on 07.02.2019. Such normalized marks have been used to
qualify the candidates for the next stage of Examination (i.e. Paper-II).

3. Based on the cut-offs fixed by Commission, following are the details of the
candidates qualifying for appearing in Paper-II:-

*193-SC, 133-ST, 1957-OBC and 843 EWS candidates qualifying at UR standard have
been shown under their respective categories.
Horizontal Category candidates (i.e. OH, HH and PWD-Other) have also been included in
their respective vertical categories (i.e. SC, ST, OBC, EWS and UR).

II. Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering:

*23-SC, 01-ST, 428-OBC and 189 EWS candidates qualifying at UR standard have been
shown under their respective categories.

4. The Descriptive Paper (Paper-II) of Junior Engineers Examination 2018 will be


conducted on 29.12.2019. The status of city of examination and Admission Certificates of
the qualified candidates will be uploaded on the websites of the respective Regional
Offices before the conduct of the Paper-II Examination. However, the candidates who are
unable to download their Admission Certificates may contact the concerned Regional
Offices immediately. The responsibility for timely download of the Admission Certificates
lies solely with the candidates.

5. The category of the candidates has been indicated along with their Roll Numbers. If
any candidate finds a mismatch between his/her Name, Roll Number and Category, as
mentioned in his/her Application Form, he/she must bring it to the notice of the respective
Regional Office of the Commission immediately.

6. Representations received from the candidates about the answer keys have been
carefully examined and the answer keys have been modified wherever necessary. The
modified answer keys have been used for evaluation.

7. Final Answer Keys along with the Question Paper(s) in a standard format has been
uploaded on the website of the Commission for a period of only one month from
12.12.2019 to 11.01.2020. The candidates’ may take a print out of their respective
Response Sheets by using the Link given below, as the same will not be available
after the above-specified time limit.

8. Marks of the qualified/non-qualified candidates in a standard format will be uploaded


shortly on the Commission’s website – http://ssc.nic.in.
