Annex 3- Minimum Technical specifications of the TROMMEL SCREEN

The Trommel Screen shall be integrated in the municipal solid waste sorting line with a maximum carrying capacity of 15
tons per hour at maximum 19 rpm rotational speed.
The Trommel Screen must be supplied by a handbook for its usage and maintenance, a workshop manual and parts
catalogue. Two copies (French or English) from each manual must be delivered.
The Supplier has to provide 3 different certificates from 3 different waste management facilities in an EU member State or
a member of the MEDA listed countries attesting that this Trommel Screen, of the same type and model the Supplier is
offering, had been in use for at least the past 3 years and had been functioning properly according to the specifications
and to the best operational practices in the business. These certificates must be authenticated from the perspective
Lebanese Embassies.
The Trommel Screen shall be brand new, unused and un-refurbished the year model is 2014 or newer.
It must be manufactured in any of the eligible countries and must be provided with a 1 year guarantee.
The Trommel Screen drum shall be made of wear-resistant anti-abrasive steel 8-10 mm thick rolled steel capable of
withholding abrasive materials continuously.
The Trommel Screen shall consist of a drum with 50 mm openings throughout the cylindrical body of the Trommel.
Length ≥ 5 m Diameter ≥2.0m Perforation = 80 mm Effective Screening Area = 33 m2
Screen drum rotation speed: 11-19 1/min Drive Power Transmission: friction wheels.
Frame- The Mounting and support frame and maintenance platform shall be included with the Trommel Screen made of
at least 3-4 mm thick steel plates and at least10 mm thick steel I beams for columns, beams and bracing.
The steel of the frame, walls, and platform shall be coated with anti-corrosive coating being sand blasted; a double coat
primer should be applied. Then a final coat of the required color then finished Epoxy coat is applied.
Varnishing:
Primer: 2 component polyurethane primer
Layer thickness: 40 µm dry layer thickness
Top coat: 2 component polyurethane primer
Layer thickness: 40 µm dry layer thickness
Total layer thickness: min. 80 µm dry layer thickness
The screen drum shall be powered by two (2 x 5.5 KW geared AC motors) electrically driven motors 50 HZ, 3 phase.
The motor type and frequency converter shall be very good quality with endurance guaranteed (experienced in other
similar projects or facilities)
The platform (1 meter wide) shall provide access on both sides and both ends of the drum within the body of the machine
to facilitate maintenance.
The walls of the body shall contain 2 access doors for each side to facilitate the maintenance process.
The screen drum shall be supported on minimum 4 high-grade heavy duty supporting wheels (minimum diameter 250 mm
& min thickness 150 mm).
The bearings for all supporting wheels shall be maintenance-free and need no additional lubrication over the duration of
their operational life.
The material shall be transported within the screen drum via a sealed screw conveyor i.e. a spiral chassis (helical drum
construction) welded continuously to the internal cylindrical body of the Trommel.
The machine shall be mounted perfectly horizontally.
The Trommel screen shall be equipped with outlet hopper with very steep walls to direct the organic waste to the
collection conveyor located underneath the machine.
The Trommel Screen shall be equipped with a master safety shutdown palm button.
Control Panel- The Trommel Screen Unit shall be equipped with an electrical control panel to allow manual control and
an emergency stop switch and can be operated in either “Manual” or “Auto” mode.
Complete Electrical control system with controls PLC (durable )
Motor protection: by a temperature control and over-current trip, IP 54 or equivalent
The necessary cables between the machine, the switch cabinet, and the MDB shall be included in the offer.
HOPPERS- The feeding, collection and connection hoppers shall be designed with a solid frame construction of profile
steel. The hoppers walls shall be made at least of 4 mm steel sheets and minimum 10 mm thickness of beams with
necessary stiffeners.
