FIG: THERMAL RADIATION UNIT

BASIC PRINCIPLE: In thermal radiation unit the thermal radiation are produced by heat
radiation source and are detected by thermocouples (they are used to convert heat energy into
electrical energy) and there is a light emitter which emits the light and it is detected by lux meter
with photodiode. Through this experiment we can understand the emission of the radiations from
different materials.

Working Principle: The basic principle of the thermal radiation unit experiment is to verify
various optical laws such as
 Kirchhoff’s law of radiation
 the Stefan-Boltzmann law
 Lambert’s distance and direction law
