Reading activity

What is reading?
Reading is what we do when we understand writing. More fully, it is a cognitive process of
understanding information represented by printed or written language. It is a way of getting
information and insights about something that is written. Reading involves understanding the
symbols in that language.
What is the purpose of reading?

The purpose of reading is to connect the ideas on the page to what you already know. If


you don't know anything about a subject, then pouring words of text into your mind is like
pouring water into your hand. You have a framework in your mind for reading, understanding
and storing information.

.Different texts require different ways of reading such as:


1 Skimming: looking quickly at an article or a book to get a general idea of what it is about.
This includes looking at visual, headings, and subheadings.
2 Scanning: Looking for specific information in a text, such as headings and key words.
3 Reading in detail: Reading a text carefully in order to learn concepts and details, this often
involves marking important information or taking notes.
4 General reading: Reading a text completely, bit without concentrating on learning specific
information.

Because fame is brief as well as the careers they participate in
