1. The diagram shows a triangle ABC with BA extended to D with AB= AC and ∠CAD =140°,
find the measure of p.

2. A, B and C are points on a circle, centre O.DA and DC are tangents to the circle. ∠ADC = 76°
,
Calculate the measure of angle ABC.

Task 2:

3. P, Q, R and S are points on a circle such that ∠RPQ =62° and ∠PQR =78°,.

2 PSG/MYP-4(Extended)/HK/S/2019-20/FA(A)
a. Find the size of ∠PRQ.

b. Calculate the size of ∠PSQ.

4. Two boxes are made up with cardboard. The boxes are similar cuboids as shown below.

The smaller box has height 32 cm . It takes 44% more cardboard to make the larger box . Apply

appropriate strategy to estimate the height of larger box .

Task 3:

5. Anna estimates the height of a tree . She holds a ruler vertically so the height of tree is

exactly covered by the ruler as shown in figure . She is standing 20m away from the tree

and the ruler is 30 cm long. The horizontal distance from her eyes to the ruler is 60cm.

Apply appropriate strategy to estimate the height of tree .

3 PSG/MYP-4(Extended)/HK/S/2019-20/FA(A)
6. In the right angled △ ABC.∠ ABC = 90°, AC=20cm, AB=10cm.If D is the mid point of BC,
then

find the length of AD. Find your answer correct to 1 decimal place

Task 4:

7. The trapezium, ABCD, has four angles as shown. All the angles are in degrees.

(a) Show that 7x + 4y = 390

(b) Show that 2x + 3y = 195
(c) Solve these simultaneous equations.
X=30
Y=45
(d) Find the sizes of all four angles of the trapezium.
360 degrees

8. Find the length of common chord of circles with radii 15 cm , 20 cm such that distance

between their centres is 25 cm .
