During my tenure at The Omni Homestead in the year 2017 as a Guest Service Associate, I was asked

to serve wine to a privileged guest at the Hotel. I had never served wine before but did not inform
my Supervisor about that as I was afraid of being a laughing stock in front of my colleagues. As a
result, I messed up the entire wine service as I failed to open the wine bottle properly. The guest
themselves took the bottle from me and opened it. I was very embarrassed and my Supervisor
immediately watched and came forward to have my back. Later on, he gently counselled me that
there is no shame in not knowing things. That was a lesson which I still remember and if faced with a
similar situation now, I would always admit that I don’t know certain things rather than messing it up
at the stage.

At Radisson Blu, Dubai, I had to work with a partner company in Spain as I knew the Spanish
language. In order to communicate cogently, I had to understand the nuances in their
communication style as well as be aware of my mannerisms lest it offends them
unintentionally. This not only helped me to enhance my cultural understandings and
competencies but also made me realize the productivity of International partnerships.

Besides my College curriculum, I had learnt Python and JAVA. This came to use when I had
to program a webpage for my college to conduct a survey on preferred type of
endorsements for new food outlets at IT hubs. I realized that I have the versatility to venture
out on many different things other than Hospitality. It made realize my technical strengths
and boosted my confidence in taking up major roles in the future.

During a conversation with my professor, I told him how ardently I would love a career in business
but was not confident that it would be the right choice for me as a career. He smiled and said that I
possessed the skills required to be a successful project manager. His words did not convince me
enough, hence, I gathered in-depth information about this field and after conducting all the
necessary research I could agree to what my professor told me. According to my understanding, as a
project manager, my role would be to oversee every aspect of the project and execute the project
plan, also get tasks done from the team to meet short-term and long-term targets. The feedback
inspired to me to pursue leadership roles and gave me the confidence in tackling numerous easy and
difficult situations. It also fomented me to choose Entrepreneurship as a career necessity.

I am a very humorous guy. I am a keen observer of things happening around me whether it concerns
me or not and try to look for humour in those. I am someone who can find humour from birthday
parties to funeral. Even in work, I prefer humorous people around me to make things easy and light.

Even in today's rat-race for achievements and acquisitions, I am someone who does not feel like
being a part of that competition. I am ambitious but not avaricious. I am happy with very simple
things like spending time with family and staying fit and healthy.

I am a very lazy person by nature. I am ambitious, focused and meticulous. Yet, I would define myself
as a lazy soul because during the holidays if my family asks me for an outing or paying a visit to
relatives, I prefer wallowing on my bed rather than the aforesaid options.
