Abbott Laboratories is a pharmaceutical company whose headquarters are in Abbott

Park, United States. It was formulated in 1888 by a Chicago Medical doctor. The mission of

the company is to help to live the best life at present and in the future. The company has

been involved in discovering, developing, manufacturing, and selling a wide range of health

care products. They create innovative products in general pharmaceutical products,

therapeutic devices, and diagnostics. It has more than 103,000 employees working together

to ensure healthy and quality life in more than 150 countries across the world [ CITATION

The materials which are used for developing different products are supplied from a

variety of suppliers. The company contacts these suppliers through indenters. These

indenters perform the role of the middle party and contact suppliers to arrange materials

for the company. These suppliers have to fulfill the supplier guidelines formulated by the

company as it ensures the delivery of safe and reliable products to its consumers. These

guidelines focus on maintaining privacy, ethics, integrity, labor rights, environmental

protection, and healthy and safe practices [ CITATION Kos18 \l 1033 ] . Some of the raw

materials used by the company include potassium chloride, sodium chloride, sodium citrate,

Aluminium seals, citric acid, superficial bubble gum, sugar, and sodium sulphate. The

suppliers of Abbott laboratories include Agilent technologies, Nosco, Pratt industries,

Palladio Zannini, Colbert Packaging, August Faller KG, Sigma Alrich, Tekni Films, Thoro

Packaging, Toyobo Co, Ltd, and Sonoco[ CITATION Abb18 \l 1033 ].

Since the company produces a wide variety of products, therefore, a peculiar process is

followed for the production of each product. However, a standard method in manufacturing

all products includes purchasing the material from suppliers, producing the product,

labelling, and storing in warehouses. Before storage, the employees check the raw material

within the product through the provided checklist, check the labelling of hazardous

material, and store the product according to the temperature required for its storage.

Hence, the company tends to offer safe products for ensuring health and safety among its

consumers.
